I had a horrible time here. I cannot believe for $600 a night they have such terrible service and accommodations. The room is very beautiful but besides that, the rest of the stay is really bad. The room is freezing and the bathroom isn’t nice. They don’t even have soap, it’s hospital soap. You have to pay for the fireplace that’s already in your room. In fact, you have to pay for everything, even tea. Absolutely nothing is complimentary and the prices are extremely inflated. Everything is so far apart, if you have to go to the reception, good luck walking miles in the cold. And the food isn’t even good. They were also 15 minutes late to pick us up in the morning and we were so stressed trying to make our morning bus. It was truly such a disappointing experience.

If you have never stayed in an igloo before, go for it! Otherwise, it’s way too expensive and not worth it if you’re low on budget.

We had initially booked 3 igloos in the East village. But thankfully we were all upgraded to 3 Kelo glass igloos in the West Village. This was a blessing because the normal igloos do not have a shower inside them. Also the east village is not walkable from the west village where the reception and restaurant are.

The Kelo igloos were really nicely made and we had a wonderful and cozy stay. We just did not wanna leave. The bathroom with the Finnish sauna were a nice addition. The cottage has a proper kitchen, is very clean and spacious enough for up to 4 persons. The igloo part of the cottage is very beautiful with floor to bed level glass view to the outdoors. We did not manage to catch northern lights from the igloos during our stay but that would have made it all the more magical watching it while laying in bed. The igloo cottage has a very nice fireplace but the firewood costs extra which is a pity considering the property is located among 500 acres of forest land.

The igloo stay was definitely a worthwhile experience but the service of the resort could be much much better given the exorbitant prices. I would have expected 5-star service but it was very average, they were low on staff and not very well-trained. Every little extra service costs were not included. Luggage service and shuttle service were included. If we had to pay for the Kelo igloos which we ended up staying at, the price would not justify the whole experience at all.

They still do not seem that popular because there were many unoccupied cottages and if there would be more tourists during peak season, the service would have to level up lot more to accommodate everyone.

The planetarium movie on Aurora was a nice experience especially if you don’t know much about the polar lights. The art gallery and design shop are very costly. I bought a pair of leather gloves but they ended up tearing the very first evening. Thankfully I managed to return them during my stay, so not sure about the quality. I could also have just been unlucky.

A beautiful experience - the location was fantastic, so many activities that are really fun , and the staff is so helpful. The cabins are beautiful and quaint (kelo glass igloos are very cool) and we saw the Aurora thrice in a week. Everyone was very understanding and accommodating and the restaurant had many different options for food.

Recently visited for a few nights while in Helsinki. The people were all extremely friendly and kind. They listened to our needs and made every effort to ensure we had a memorable experience. Emily at the front desk was awesome! The food was excellent and our cabin was clean and cozy. The nearby excursions are a must!

My stay at Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, the beauty of the surroundings left us speechless. The resort offers a plethora of activities, from snowmobiling to dog sledding, ensuring there's never a dull moment. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction.

The igloos themselves are a marvel, spacious and beautifully designed.

While the included meals were satisfactory, they didn't quite match up to the excellence of the rest of our experience. However, this minor drawback was easily remedied by exploring nearby towns for dinner options.

If you're considering a trip to the nearby ski resorts, I highly recommend stopping by Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort for 2-3 days. It's an experience you won't soon forget, and I'm already planning my return trip in the future. Five stars without a doubt.
