We were looking at the sky for northern lights  and saw a car approaching in the dark so we went to the side of the road to give way. not knowing the car was about to enter the drive way which we entered for a few meters. A person belonging to this property got out of the car and said in a quite unfriendly way that we should leave now as this is private property.. we had no bad intentions at all.

Jarmo, the local Sami guide, provided a full private experience:
Pulling out the fishing nets, drilling our own fishing hole and trying to catch some (more) fish by rodfishing, while Jarmo amazed us with all kind of Sami culture stories.
Also, Jarmo created a fire on the ice, in order to prepare our lunch, served with warm drinks.
We were lucky to catch a couple of fish, which Jarmo prepared as lunch as well!

We had such an amazing and a really fun day on the ice , and we can only strongly recommend you to have this same experience!

Super expérience, incluant plusieurs techniques de pêche (au filet, à la ligne). On fait tout de A à Z et les enfants ont pu beaucoup participer.
On a été accueilli directement au domicile du guide, pêcheur professionnel.
Le déjeuner était également inclus. Des poissons (frais évidemment) grillés au feu de bois.

We were welcomed directly to the home of the guide, a professional fisherman.

Un très grand merci pour cette merveilleuse journée hors du temps. Nous avons eu la chance de pouvoir suivre Jarmo, mon mari et moi sur le lac. Dans un premier temps nous avons levé les filets, et nous avons pu participer à chaque étape. Puis nous avons creusé un trou dans la glace pour y pêcher avec une petite canne à pêche. Jarmo a ensuite allumé un feu, qui nous a bien réchauffés en plus de cuire les poissons fraîchement pêchés. Avec en extra des saucisses, sandwichs au fromage et cafés. Ses diverses explications sur le lac, les lieux sacrés, la pêche et les Samis ont rythmé notre petit périple.
Nous repartons avec des magnifiques souvenirs, et la chance d’avoir pu rencontrer une belle personne. Merci encore

A very big thank you for this wonderful, timeless day. We were lucky enough to be able to follow Jarmo, my husband and I on the lake. First we lifted the nets, and we were able to participate in each stage. Then we dug a hole in the ice to fish with a small fishing rod. Jarmo then lit a fire, which warmed us up well in addition to cooking the freshly caught fish. With extra sausages, cheese sandwiches and coffees. His various explanations about the lake, the sacred places, fishing and the Sami people punctuated our little journey.
We leave with wonderful memories, and the chance to have met a beautiful person. Thanks again
