Self check in and check out. So quick and easy. We have been upgraded to the top floor room upon our stay. Made our day already. Was a very kind gesture. Nice view from the room. Tidy, clean, however super small. No storage for stuff. Neither in bathroom for skincare, neither in hallway for clothes. Also even if room has been cleaned daily, our floor hasn’t been hovered or mopped throughout whole stay.
Breakfast was ok just missing options for coffee and normal juice as it was only some kind of squash.
Out of town centre but bus stop is right on another side of the street. 15-20min on a bus and you are in town.

Quite ok. A bit soulless premesis, otherwise fine. Doesn't look much like a hotel, but that's not an issue I guess. For instance, if you compare this with some old Sokos Hotels that have a deep vibes and a sweet retro-feeling, Valo has none of that, its just clinical. I don't mean it's a bad thing, it's just missing. It reminds me of Espoo office buildings.

There was the Greens party meeting when I was here. The party leader was having a speech and she loudly spoke to the mic: "and what do we say when other people are ranting to us, we say "Viiitt-uuu", that's "F**k". And the Greens audience repeated that. It was a moment of confusion for me. I don't know what that was about, but it really fit the partys imago ✌🏻🥇

The roof has a pool and 2 saunas, that's sweet! Recommed that 🍦🍒

Great place to stay with fantastic facilities. Rooms are on the small side but only used the room for sleeping and getting ready in which it done the job. Only thing missing is a fridge but not a major issue. Great facilities for wellness i.e. sauna, steam, hot tub and plunge pool. Staff are very friendly and helpful - one notable mention is to Jarkko in the work space - extremely helpful and a credit to his team. Thank you for a great stay, I will be back :)

I booked this hotel through booking.com to stay at for one night in Helsinki. I could have booked somewhere (1) cheaper, and (2) more central, but the hotel looked great and the spa facilities attracted me. I woke up early on the morning of my check out to have breakfast and use the spa facilities, but I was informed that the spa was out of use for a private event from 8am-1pm. I spoke to reception to indicate that I was unhappy with this, as this was never mentioned or advertised anywhere before and I 100% would not have booked the hotel if I knew that the spa (one of the best features of the hotel) was going to be closed to guests. The lady at reception did not offer to help in any way, and simply told me that it was advertised on the hotel’s website.

My advice to the hotel would be if you use Booking.com, no one is looking at your website. No one is checking the hotel’s website if they book through booking.com. Why would they? How on earth would anyone find this information out? Not only that, but I was notified on Booking.com days before arrival that I may need to book the spa during my stay, as it can get busy. Upon seeing this, I called the hotel days before arrival and was informed that there would be no need to book the spa as it was quiet this week. If she had mentioned that the spa would be out of use for the majority of my stay, I would have cancelled the hotel and stayed somewhere more central and cheaper.

The hotel is miles from Helsinki city centre and the price is hard to justify for that reason.

If you plan on staying here, beware! The staff are not helpful and did not care about my problems. I am horrified at the experience and will never return or recommend this hotel.

Hotel is overall pretty great with their food and location. I have now spent several weeks here over the years for work and my only major complaint is that there is no good AC in the summer (those rooms can get very very warm) and the showers never seem to get hot, which is annoying. If the showers actually got beyond 36°C (they advertise 38°), that would be great!
