Great food sourced locally close and far. Professional and friendly service.
Food is tasty with nice varieties of different interested mixes of flavors.
Knowledgeable staff will guide you through the service with wine pairings of your food.

We have never experienced such poor service compared to similar restaurants in Helsinki. Here’s a summary of our experience:

(1) We ordered the 5-course menu, but only received four courses when it came time for dessert, the waitress validated with the kitchen and informed us, “I have no idea why we didn’t serve you the starter.”

(2) The wine was poured while I was in the restroom, with no opportunity to taste or see the bottle. I had to specifically ask about which wine was served.

(3) Since we only received four out of five courses, the restaurant offered a 20% discount. However, I had also opted out of the cheese plate, meaning I effectively only received a 3-course meal. Despite this, the discount was applied to the full 5-course menu price.

(4) My friend and I paid separately, but despite ordering different wines and courses (he had four courses while I had three), the waitress simply split the bill evenly between us. This was not only inaccurate but also frustrating.

While the food was refined, the service was neither attentive nor respectful.

Le Coucou Vert is exquisite in every way. The space is beautifully decorated and sets the tone. The staff are chill, friendly, knowledgeable and skilled.

The food and drink are outstanding. Each item was high quality and flavors danced. The crab and salmon were super fresh. The duck was some of the best I’ve ever had.

The staff paired wines expertly with each dish and I enjoyed some interesting and delicious glasses.

This is now at the top of my list when visiting Helsinki.

We ordered a five-course meal, but by the end, my friend realized we had only received four dishes. When we brought this to the attention of our server, she seemed surprised. We showed her photos we had taken of each course, and it became clear that the first starter (a fish dish) was never served. After reviewing the evidence, she went to check with the kitchen and apologized, but she couldn’t offer any explanation for why the dish was missed. We assured her that we understood, and we genuinely did.

However, what left us truly disappointed was how the situation was handled afterward. We were initially offered an 20percent discount, but when it came time to pay, we realized this only applied to the price of the five-course set, not the final bill. Essentially, they just deducted the cost of the missing dish and offered no other form of compensation. If I were the manager, I would have at least offered something small, like a complimentary tea, espresso, or dessert wine—just a simple gesture of good customer service.

While the food itself was great ( except bread was very very basic) , the service was far below the standard you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber (wine was served when my friend went to the bathroom and there was no tasting at all and a general welcome feeling was zero)

Super cozy place, great food and staff. Lovely for a dinner date :)
Price level good for the value.
