The food is spectacular.  We found the restaurant through research when visiting Chateau d"Azay-le-Rideau. After dining there, we think Auberge Pom'Poire is the reason to visit Azay-le-Rideau in and of itself.  The Chef and his team are inventive, he uses local ingredients in season with imaginative combinations of flavors in a visually impressive way.  The wait staff were warm and helpful. As Michelin would say, it is definitely worth the trip!

I had the best meal of the entire trip here. Totally worth it driving out here. This is a piece of paradise - calm, quite, peaceful. The food was great, every bite is an explosion of flavor. Loved everything we had. Staff was very nice and helped explain everything in English. Dairy allergy was addressed with no issues. after the meal we stuck around for a bit just enjoying the nature and the beauty of the place. Next time I would even consider staying onsite. Reservation is required and I was very pleased when they responded to my email and helped me secure one (dinner wasn't available but we got lunch)

This restaurant is truly delightful. Service is warm and friendly and the atmosphere (tucked away in the Loire valley countryside) is absolutely gorgeous. The food is absolutely stunning. We are at a famous, historic 2-star in Paris and it had nothing on Auberge Pom’Poire, which was a far superior meal in our estimation. There was not one meh or mediocre course - everything was fresh, innovative, full of flavor, and flat out delicious. It was a perfect summer meal celebrating beautiful summer and French ingredients. Book a table here right away!

Our experience at the Auberge Pom’Poire could not have been better!  The building is on the property of an extensive and beautiful working farm, growing the trademark apples and pears referenced by the hotel’s name. In front of the hotel, a vocal donkey and peaceable couple of goats serve as the welcoming committee; once inside, an impeccably clean, tastefully decorated, and clearly newly renovated space beckons you in. The room we stayed in was a stand-alone structure, also well-appointed with tasteful decor and obviously fresh from renovations, with a refreshing shower and a beautiful, furnished patio that overlooked the aforementioned animals.

After checking in, it was time for dinner at the Michelin-star restaurant. The dining room was as impressive and atmospheric as the rest of the hotel spaces. We were blown away by every single item on the 9-course meal. All of the staff were highly professional and friendly, and our primary waitress Fiona went out of her way to make us feel welcome and explain each dish to us in detail. When dessert came around, the pastry chef herself emerged from the kitchen and walked us through the selection, including an excellent dish designed as an homage to the chef’s farmer father. In the last course, Fiona and the pastry chef brought us a special additional dessert, as well as a plate with the word “Congratulations” on our recent anniversary spelled out in chocolate drizzle. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and generous, and just as excellent as the rest of our stay!  Thank you for a wonderful trip! -- Andrew and Laurel
