This restaurant deconstructs the fine dining experience where there can be stiff formality and power dynamics which are unpleasant. Here you ring the doorbell to be let in and welcomed as to someone's home. The dining area is liberally scattered with quirky objets d'art. Once at the table you are asked about your likes and dislikes before the meal but you don't get to choose the menu...it is all a mystery until it arrives. We did the 4 course wine pairing and the wines were high quality and of course local....the cuisine is clearly Asian influenced and beautifully cooked and seasoned. The Chef Serge Burckel helps with service and talks to the Diners. All in all one of the best experiences (not just a meal) we have ever had. Humorous quirky, genuine and heartfelt.

AOR La Table was recommended to us by a friend and we had the best experience. We are both vegetarians and my wife found out that she has celiac only about a year ago and this was our first trip to Elsass.

The combination of veggie + celiac makes it nearly impossible to eat anything in this region we have found as the cuisine is relying heavily on meat and wheat (breads, roux based sauces and so on).

But at AOR la table we had the best experience. The restaurant already asks for dietary restrictions when making a reservation and the chef curated an amazing menu for us. The chef was very knowledgeable when it came to the use of gluten in food and we are convinced that no sacrifices were made in the food prepared by not using gluten-based ingredients of any kind. We loved every bite of the food we ate and we would always come again and recommend this restaurant.
