In summary, one of the, if not the most disappointing Michelin experiences we have ever had. Definitely not worth a star (had to look it up afterwards if we may have missed something).
Though it started with a nice glass of champagne, the amuses were already signalling that we might get disappointed. And indeed, throughout all courses a lack of creativity and subtlety in taste and presentation was experienced. On a positive note, the excellent champagne was followed by a good choice of wines which paired nicely with the courses.
It was funny that the waitress asked my wife if she would like to make use of the optional selection of cheeses when it was already mentioned in advance and confirmed at the start that she would not like to have cheese in her food. Also when collecting our coats, she got distracted by someone from outside, walked outside together with the receptionist, leaving us standing alone in the lobby with our coats in our hands. Nothing serious but it made us chuckle as it’s not something you expect in a star restaurant.
So in short, we tried La Table once but never again.

We were in Lille for a citytrip. We made a reservation at la Table for two. We came with high expectations. Unfortunately, the dinner did not reach our expectations by a mile.

Firstly, the 9 meal course we chose, was served in more or less than 2 hours! I have not even experienced this with 6 course meals at other Michelin starred restaurants. Three tables that arrived at the same time, including us, followed the same tempo and a lady from another table still had 2 glasses of wine unfinished, while the 3th glass was already being served.

The courses were kind of flat, and did not blow us away in flavor or creation. One of the starters was literally a cracker. The exception was the course with pigeon, which was very tasty.

Also, the wine explanation was very concise, and took only 2-3 sentences. We were kind of disappointed with that, as we expected to learn a bit more about the wine and the pairing to the menu. Normally, I wouldn’t mind, but since it is a Michelin star restaurant. I’d expect more.

Due to my experience, as I have worked in Michelin starred restaurants and dined at various places, the expectations were high, but La Table could simply not reach the expectations.

Lastly, the staff, and primarily the lady who served us did a great job. Very friendly, great explanation of the dishes and proactive!

But overall, we are disappointed in this experience and La table could not reach our expectations at all, since we were really looking forward to this.

Restaurant: good food (but not spectacular), service is inexperienced and overall awkward. Very young and shy waiters at times. But friendly and well intentioned. A few short comings: one waiter forgot to describe a dish, our water pitcher was left empty for a long time - mistakes do happen, but usually the basics are well covered once you get to the 1* level.
I really appreciate when asked “how was it?”, but perhaps not 10 times in a meal :). I suggest varying the questions and be slightly more informal once the relation with the guest is built - some restaurants do this very well (even at the 2 or 3* level, which one might expect would be more formal...). Overall, this is still a very solid lunch for 60 EUR, despite a few flaws noted above.
The setting is great as well!

On the Hotel side :
Everything was perfect. The service, from reception, desk, to door and cleaning service, was extremely helpful, smiling and efficient.
The room was spacious, matress very comfortable, everything very clean, some welcome treats.
100% would recommend the hotel.

On the restaurant's side : a bit disapointed here, especially for a one Michelin Star.
The dining room is very beautiful, in an old private house with mouldings.
Service very efficient, and again, smiling and helpful.
It's more on the cuisine's side that comes disapointment.
Some amuse bouche were served too cold, taking away part of the taste (same goes for the different butters).
The squash espuma with mousse and seeds wasn't seasoned enough leaving it quite meh experience.
Same for the scallops, almost no seasoning.
On the opposite, pigeon was cooked at perfection, and worked well with beetroot, but still some nerves in the meat.
And disapointed in the signature ravioles, where the red cabbage taste was totally surpassed by the spices, so you couldn't taste it at all.
Big kuddos for the cheese plate though, not only original ones, but the waitress was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, so many thanks to her, this cheese board was a true enjoyment.

Looking forward to a wonderful qualitative dinner, we left rather disappointed thinking French cuisine unfortunately has lost its aura at this place.
The lighting is too strong and does not compliment room nor guests.
Waitress had awful fake hyper long nails which, as it’s commonly known, carry bags of dirt.
Food was OK yet not great - garlic amuse bouche tartlets being the best bit. The raviole’s broth was rather tasteless. Happy we added the caviar to the cod which otherwise would not have had reason to be Michelin starred.
Dessert really not nice at all.
I was given a macaron with candle for my birthday which was nice.
Staff hoovering the room next door and partying before we left (around midnight)
We (3 guests) are €765 lighter yet nor more satisfied.
