Food overall good and very unique concept - French and Mexican, deff a first for me… however with the 4 service menu (there was an additional amuse and petite fours + I got wine pairing).. it was a 3 hour long dinner which is quite honestly ridiculous…chefs table at Brooklyn fare is a 15 course dinner and takes 3 hours (3 Michelin star) to put into perspective. Since restaurants close at 9:30, I thought it would be at most a 2 hour dinner but it was way past that

I think it was the owner doing all the waiting. I felt bad because I can see she is busy but she needs assistance. I don’t usually eat dessert but the dessert was very good. 2 fish dishes and only white wine in the pairing which is fine but not that creative

Three friends visited Le Mezquité on a cold Thursday lunchtime and would thoroughly recommend it 😍
We received a warm welcome from Jack who explained every exciting and unusual taste we were about to experience.
We felt that we had been on a voyage of discovery of Mexican food from the homeland of Laura, prepared by Julien with a French twist.
The presentation was sublime.
The restaurant is cosy but modern, the recommended wine was excellent and the cocktails innovative I hear !
No communication problems as Jack and Laura are bilingual.

Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience. Despite good service, and a unique cuisine - several things didn’t work out for us. Perhaps our European palette isn’t used to Mexican/French fusion.

Mezcal cocktails & the wine were really good.

The hostess and waiter were attentive and friendly. It is a well decorated restaurant with nice touches all over - great crockery, glasses etc.

Oysters to start which did seem a little “dry”.

The mains we had were lamb shank and duck breast. The duck was very tough and, in the end, not edible. The shank also tasted over cooked but I did end up finishing it.

A lot of the food is smoked, and the staff indicated this is the way food is served in Mexico, but unfortunately not to our liking.

It was a shame as we felt this restaurant had great potential - with a lot of effort on the customer experience - but overall we were disappointed.

From the setting to the service to the cocktails to the food - this place is exceptional.

So much thought has gone into this restaurant. The concept works so well and it has been a highlight of my trip to France. The staff are clearly passionate about the whole experience.

The prawns were some of the best I’ve ever had. The amuse bouche savoury churros were unlike anything I’ve ever had. Excellent portion sizes.
