I discovered Arepas in Orlando at Tako Cheena, an Asian-Latin fusion joint that serves the soft & humid style of arepas. I love those and it was obvious that Bululú's Venezuelan arepas are different: dry buns sliced open with food slipped inside. 

I ordered two arepas: one Carupanera and one Reina Pepiada. 

My absolute favorite was the Carupanera with sausage, plantain, red pickled onion and avocado. Each ingredient complemented the others so well and it was all fresh and filling.

The Reina Pepiada's avocado cream and chicken was delicious too but a little too gooey for my taste. And to be honest you'd really have to be starving to devour two of their arepas. The 9 euro lunch menu with one arepa, one soup and a drink is a great deal.

Speaking of drinks the Papelón con limón (raw hardened sugar cane juice, water, and lime served on ice) is so good I might just walk back to get another one right now.

I'm so proud a great little place like this exists in my own backyard.

Portions are filling and ingredients are fresh. 

They used to have an arepa of the month with pork and mango and it was by far the most delicious, mouth watering arepa of my entire life. Tastebud fiesta. 

PLEASE Bululu-- bring it back !! I need this in my life.

We stopped in for a quick bite while walking to meet more people. DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Cozy and delicious. I was upset to have to leave to go meet people. Recommend... highly.

This is a very small place but my wife and I gave it a try.    It does not look very inviting but I had the chicken and cheese arepa and it was excellent.  My wife had the shredded beef and cheese and her's also was great.   The green sauce was awesome.  My wife is from Venezuela so she knows how to cook good arepas.  This place has excellent arepas but they need some more color to liven up the decorations.

I have been in Paris for one year and I can say that in terms of price, food quality, and service, this has been the worst restaurant I've eaten at in all three categories. Or should I say, tried to have eaten at... considering there was so much water in the bottom of my brunch plate that I had to return the food.

It went like this: In the mood for a new restaurant near my house, I hit my usual websites to find something unique that would be a bright, delicious way to spend a Sunday afternoon. After locating a review or two for Bululú, in the Clignancourt area of Paris' 18th arrondissement, I quickly convinced my boyfriend that arepas (Venezuelan sandwiches made with corn-cake like bread) are super delicious and that this would be a guaranteed enjoyable experience. Having eaten many an arepa before, I was excited to try this little Venezuelan restaurant here in faraway Paris. We arrive, and the restaurant is full. It's small, made up of a tiny open kitchen and four large tables. No worries, we are told the wait would be 15 minutes, and offered a drink.

"Sure, I'll have this cocktail,"

"Sorry, we don't have that."

"Okay, I'll take your beer brune."

"Sorry, we don't have that, either."

Okay so just give me anything. I get a Pilsner, fine. We wait outside for about 25 minutes, but it's fine because the beer is cold and the sun is shining. Once we're seated, we're given the arepas menu and a limited brunch menu. After deciding on our order, we relay it to the waiter who then tells us arepas are not available, and we must order one of the egg plates from the brunch menu. At this point, I would like to point out that the arepas are 7 euros, while the brunch menus are 17 euros. They consist of only black beans, eggs, and avocado. You can add sausage or shredded beef only.

So basically I'm paying 17 euros for eggs, something I could have made in my home an hour ago. As we're waiting for our food to be made, I notice that the people next to us are served large baskets of arepas, the sandwiches we were told could not be ordered. Forty five minutes later, we are given our food. During this forty five minutes it should be noted that no new customers came in, and the women behind the counter literally could not have been working slower.

Our plates our put down on the table, and are half the size of the plates the people on our other side have. What was served to me was a 17 euro plate, about 15 centimeters (6.5 inches) in diameter, of maybe two gray, dried out eggs. About an eighth of the plate was black beans, and three small slices of overripe, slimy avocado. As for the meat, if the plate was a clock, the meat took up 'one hour.' it was maybe four small bites of meat. Much of the plate was empty. You can view the fork in the picture for a size comparison. The largest portion of anything on my very small plate I waited-at this point-over an hour for, was all of the water at the bottom. That's right, my entire plate was filled with water at the bottom.

I called the waiter over and returned the food, something I've never done before in my life. My boyfriend couldn't have looked more disappointed eating his, and I commend him for not making a fuss about it like I did. The waiter took the food back and asked if I wanted something else. Here's the kicker, there isn't anything else on the menu. Do I want to wait another 45 minutes for the exact same thing? No, thanks. My boyfriend finishes his small plate of food in two seconds flat and we go to leave, where we are charged over 30 euros for the beer, the plate, and two beverages we didn't order. After correcting him, we spend 22 euros on a beer and the worst excuse for a plate of eggs and beans I've ever seen. And just to add a kicker on the way out, as we're walking out the door someone else is served a big basket of arepas. Clueless and incompetent service, horrible food cooked at a snails pace, and prices that are laughably outrageous. Do yourself a favor and never, ever come here.

Growing up Venezuelan I know arepas! The ones made here are fantastic!! Just like mom used to make! The people were friendly and the service was great!! Price was normal for an arepera! The soup, the arepas and the maduros were all excellent! Definitely a must if you're a Venezuelan in Paris!! :)

If you love Venezuelan food then this is a place for you. Super quaint location so if you show up when its busy you can sit on the bench just outside. The avocado dip is amazing! But...the Arepa's are amazing (sorry if I miss-spelled)! This is an awesome place to enjoy some truly authentic good. Staff speak English and French as well as there Spanish.

Delicious fresh drinks and hot sandwiches. Interesting combination of trajada, saucisson et avocat washed down with a passion fruit cocktail. I would stay away from the Guasaca tho..

The food and the drinks are full of flavor and delicious! The only negative thing to say is that you must reserve before going if not you will not have a place to sit/eat but you can always use the takeaway!

This tiny restaurant offers tipical food from Venezuela. The arepa, sort of crepe made of corn flour, is stuffed with meat, black beans, avocado, banana and cheese. It's definitely nourishing! Try the juices also. Booking is highly recommended, as the place gets crowded quickly.
