Alex and his staff are the most accommodating and friendly staff in Paris.  We've eaten at their fondue/hot stone cooking restaurant several times over the past decade with groups of adults and students and it's always been a wonderful, memorable experience.  The salad is fresh, the roasted potatoes are crispy, and the fondue and/or hot stone-cooked meats and vegetables are delicious.  

It's our favorite place in Paris - casual, informal, but always fun and tasty.

Best accidental discovery ever!

We were wandering the streets of Paris on our last night looking for a restaurant for one last memorable meal.  On a whim we came in here because we saw that they served fondue and we thought that would be a good idea for supper.  The restaurant name translates into "Fortunate like Alexander" in English.  Did that ever turn out to be a fantastic decision.  Read on to hear why.

The restaurant's owner has to be one of the kindest, charismatic people that I have ever met.  He welcomed us with open arms and we got to chat with him quite a bit and learn more about him.  He also was very kind to us and gave us many free drinks just because he was a very generous person.  This was completely unexpected and we were really grateful for this.

In addition to a welcoming owner the atmosphere here in general was just relaxing and inviting. We got talking to the people at the table next to us and it turns out that they were regulars who lived in the neighbourhood and came here frequently because they had befriended the own.  Meanwhile two buskers came by who played some mellow guitar music to add to the ambiance.

Now I can finally talk about the food.  We ordered a simple cheese fondue and it was wildly delicious. It came out very quickly and we enjoyed every mouthful.  We were given plenty of bread to soak it all up and there was also a salad included so we could get some vegetables.

Honestly my experience was so good here that I was almost sad to leave the restaurant at the end of the night.  We wanted a memorable, final meal in Paris and boy did we ever get it.  After eating here I feel fortunate like Alexander.

We tried this place based on other reviews and we were not disappointed. Fondue and hot stone cooking is not very popular in mid July but my partner and daughter had never had either dish before so I encouraged them to try it. I can picture this tiny restaurant packed with a big group of people on a cold winters night.  

Everything is around 20 euro per person. We had the mixed meat (duck and beef) hot stone and the traditional cheese fondue. Food was nicely presented. We had a salad to start and there were 3 great sauces that came with the meat. Service was attentive. Total bill for 3 was 58E

The street is full of restaurants with outdoor patios. Lots of good people watching.

By far my favorite restaurant in Paris! My friend grew up in Paris and took me here while I was visiting. We had an incredible meal and the staff was so kind. I will most definitely be back!

I've been there twice. I had a fondue savoyarde (cheese) and a fondue bourguignone (meat).
I liked both a lot.
The waiters are nice and fast. The place is reasonable in price. Overall, a nice restaurant for foundues, not the best, but very good.

Great all you can eat fondue and mixed meat. The place is quaint and Alexandre was nice, although working too many table so it took about two and a half hours for what could've been an hour long meal

Delicious meat fondue.  Loved chicken and duck. Didn't love beef. Very very nice service.

Perfect for big hungry groups! Everyone in our group of nine ordered the bbq combination (which included a platter of duck, beef, and chicken meats). The combo meant we also got unlimited orders of salad and fried potatoes, which fed us for 2-3 hours. The salad was fresh and the fried potatoes were hot and crispy. One of our burners went out once and an employee fixed it right away.

Amazing!!! We had the cheese and meat combination fondue. The duck was fantastic. Best 1st night in Paris.

This was probably our favorite meal in Paris! We had the mixed meat fondue - it was more than enough for two and tasted delicious! We weren't familiar with meat fondue but it was easy and delicious. For dessert, we had the chocolate fondue with fruit. We don't speak French and our waiter/manager didn't speak English but was kind enough to help us translate dessert by phone! Another reviewer said 10000x tastier and less expensive than the US Melting Pot - 100% right! Highly recommend this place!
