Found this gem & was so glad to have a chance to dine during our short stay. Food was absolutely outstanding & service was fantastic!!! We will definitively come back to try the rest of the menu.  Love, love it!

A fine dining experience - very good value and solid if unspectacular cooking - but at reasonable prices one should not expect the spectacular. Very good bistro food, good ambience and service.  

Our starters - Eggplant  millefeuille with ricotta cheese and tomato, and rabbit terrine.  I had a hearty bouillabaisse with hake, scorpion fish, and cod. Yes, you can get more seafood variety in a bouillabaisse  but the menu prices are really low - 30 Euros for a starter and main. My wife has the free-range chicken with roasted garlic and potatoes. Very good comfort food on a rainy night.

Very American friendly, but not a tourist trap! The staff were excellent and helped guide us through the menu. The Apple dessert was probably my favorite of everything we had.

Went here with my boyfriend as our last meal in Paris this was perfection. We went off of reviews and got the eggplant millefeuille as our starter. Neither of us are eggplant people and we really enjoyed it. Main courses, he got the veal, I got the squid with squid ink pasta. Dessert, we split the bitter chocolate cake with hazelnut ice cream. 
Each dish was cooked with care, presented beautifully, and tasted fantastic. Made for a very enjoyable dining experience. The ambiance was not super romantic and it did feel pretty touristy (only one elderly Parisian couple, everyone else was tourists). However, it's small, quiet and we were seated in the corner so this didn't really bother us.

Fabulous new bistro.  This is not your old bistro; dark, loud and smoky.  It is open with inventive cuisine, lovely fresh well picked wines and in the middle of the 6th.  I've had remarkable meals here on a human size budget ($75-100/head) 

This is a power meal.  No four hours like at the bad boys. An hour, or two.

Worth the stop.  This is truly one of the best of the best of it's type.

Went here on a very quiet Sunday night. What a nice space! It was more modern, and as comfortable as NYC or London, easily. Nothing defined the space as being opposite Luxembourg Gardens in Paris. No issue here. What a well-lit, well-spaced,  lovely place. There were 5 Tables at which sat 1 German, 2 English, one local and us...

I asked for Chablis and was told this was a Chardonnay. How helpful, in a condescending way. Maybe the majority of guests are wine virgins, but please don't judge us all by the LCD: not a TV ..Lowest Common Denominator.

The smoked salmon over warm potatoes in dill sauce was refined and so well balanced. It was a lovely way to start.

There was actually a reason we were there on a Sunday night. Yes, it is true that not many good places are open Sundays, but the reason we went to La Bastide Odeon was the Southern Style Chicken and Roast Potatoes. It was really worth the trip. The dish was classic, with fresh herbs, and prepared so well it could have been made by Julia Child (chicken and egg of course). So good.

The cheese plate was homemade and included Roquefort and Chevre (probably the best Chevre in Paris), with housemade Chutney. The Millefeuille with cream (Chantilly?) was melt-in-the-mouth perfect, beautiful and made with real skill.
 
Overall, this restaurant offers just a great experience. It is one of 8 by the same owners, so now I need to find other 7.

I was told that French cuisine is the best in the world, and dining at La Bastide Odeon made that a fact. My husband and I were so pleased by our meal and experience. The staff was friendly and the price matched the quality. 

A few nights before eating at La Bastide Odeon, we had a horrific tourist trap dining experience which made us nervous to go out again. Our meal at La Bastide Odeon healed that wound. Now we know it is worth the effort to research a restaurant and read it's reviews. Trust me you will not be disappointed with La Bastide Odeon. Bon Appétit!

Chef Gilles Ajuellos creates probably the most healthy menu I have ever seen in France, yet the tastes are vibrant.  The grilled eggplant on top of ricotta and tomatoes was refreshing.  My main course was fantastic, a range free chicken, roasted to perfection on a bed of fingerling potatoes along with roasted cloves.  My wifes entree was squid and chorizo, three types of peppers on penne pasta.  Tasted very much like a seafood gumbo, delicious.

Amazing food at a very reasonable price.  This restaurant was recommended by a friend, and it was a great experience in French cuisine with Mediterranean influence. The staff was very accommodating with the small amount of French we did speak, and spoke English very well. The menu has English translation below the French. The food was delicious. We ordered from the Menu de la Marche, which includes 1 entree, 1 plat, and 1 dessert. Meal 1: Vegetable soup, sea scallops with parsnips, "Napoleon" (puff pastry with vanilla cream); Meal 2: goose liver, chicken and potatoes, "Napoleon"; Meal 3: marinated squid salad, filet with mashed potatoes, pear tart. Along with a bottle of wine, the total was about 140 €. The food presentation was really well done, and I will recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Paris dining experience.

Of all the restaurants I visited while in Paris, this was one of my favorite. Who would have thought scrambled eggs with mushrooms could be THAT delicious. This goes to show their culinary genius. The fish I ordered tasted like it just got caught that morning and I would recommend the chocolate cake dessert to EVERYONE! For the price, this is more than worth it. I went to many other  'French' restaurants while in Paris and this was by far the best. Warm atmosphere, not overly crowded and extremely attentive staff. You can tell the pride they take in making this little gem in the 6th arr. shine!
