Caravelle is a small "family" type restaurant... I was staying at the Marriott around the corner and craving Pasta Carbonara, and the Yelp reviews recommended La Caravelle (Pizza Caravelle on the sign).. in a quick review, the Carbonara was wonderful, thick but light and tasty --(maybe could use a  little more pancetta) and the wine was good... but the disappointing part was that I was American ... I can speak French fair (and can get around in Italian) but the minute they heard my accent they immediately started referring negatively as an American (and stopped speaking to me in French) ...the owner seemed more "forgiving" to me for being American but my waiter was an ass!   The families around me at the small restaurant were wonderful and I had a great time playing cards with their boys and talking to the locals in my broken French ... 
So, the food was Great!!! The wine good, the small atmosphere charming and the patrons--fun!!! but the outright dislike of America was disheartening and really distracted from the wonderful atmosphere and food

Food is reasonable. Liked their pasta. Service can be improved - a bit slow and from my experiences compared to other good restaurants, they are not very attentive. For example, when the bread basket is empty they don't replace it or when you run out of water they have to be asked. A bit tight in terms of seating but the restaurant has character to it.
