Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Montmartre, La Cave Gourmande offers an authentic French dining experience that transports guests straight to the heart of Paris. The interior has a limited amount of seating. It is catered towards larger groups though. There are 2 tables for 6, and 2 tables for 4, with only one table for 2. There were also tables outside but not many. The ambiance is good. The music is a bit loud for the amount of people that were dining in. The atmosphere is quite romantic with the dimmed lighting and the candles but the music does not set that tone whatsoever. Props to our server for bringing us extra plates when we mentioned we would be sharing the appetizer. 

Beef bourguignon with mashed potatoes (5/5): the portions were worth it for the price. They were quite sizable. When I was cutting, I could tell the beef was so tender. The meat was marinated very well and deep into it.

Tap to pay is accepted. Overall, La Cave Gourmande is a small cute restaurant for some delicious french food. I highly recommend their beef bourguignon.

This place is a gem! 

We were in Paris for two weeks and this place was so good, we had it twice. Located in Montmartre, this cozy 'cave' sits upon a busy street. 

As an American, you must get used to the slow pace that most restaurants run here. But, I've taken a sincere liking to slowing down and enjoying my food rather than eating 'on the go.'

Order the beef bourguignon. It is amazing. Comes in a steaming pot with buttery mashed potatoes. Also tried the foie gras, escargots, and frog legs. Haven't had a dish that wasn't up to par. This place deserves more attention.

A must visit if you're in the area.

Must say that the outdoor seating area is very unassuming / cause of suspicion (zero people around, no decorations, broken mirror). But given other raving reviews, we sat and ordered the beef bourguignon and salmon steak. The mash potatoes were very good and the beef was tasty, though a bit dry and had a bit much too tough gristle. The salmon was poached and cooked perfectly.

If we came again, I'd like to try more of the menu to get a better / fuller experience. Overall, I'd give it a 3.5 - 4.

To start the service was horrible. She took forever to get us menus/clean off the table (like literally 20 minutes). And apparently since everyone in here is a tourist, they can get away with crap like- 
1) not having escargot forks (toothpicks and she treated me like I was the idiot, even though I've NEVER been given toothpicks)
2) no bread with the escargot and soup 
3) trying not to bring the carafe d'eau that I requested (in French) 3 times already.

They played Celine Dion SUPER loud the whole time- I mean ok, she's fine, but can we turn her down or put something else on for 15 minutes? 
Everyone who was in here was a tourist- some Belgians came in, but they left after standing there for 10 minutes, ignored.

The escargot was pretty good, so... still not worth it. And - everything came from the restaurant across the street- so cold coffee...10 minutes for the check... etc.

This iconic place in the heart of Montmartre is equal parts made for the tourists and the locals. Yes, there are touristy (or as the French would say, "touristic") aspects of this restaurant but when you read about the history of this place, you come to find that this place existed far before major international tourism was a thing. It wasn't too busy of an evening so our group of 7 people were able to get a table right away. There was a pianist playing in the background and the restaurant was definitely not empty by any means but not too crowded where it felt overwhelming. It was a slightly chilly evening so no one was sitting outside in their abundant amount of tables. They had outdoor heaters which I'm sure they would've turned on if someone had chosen to sit outside. 

On to the food. My group ordered various things: steak frites, baked whole fish, onion soup, and I ordered the moules frites (mussels and fries). The whole group enjoyed our food and I really enjoyed my moules frites. Honestly though, I'd say that since this dish is such a French staple, it would be surprising that an old restaurant like this could mess the dish up. 

Our server was very entertaining, funny, and just the right amount of sarcastic. Everyone around us was truly enjoying themselves and overall it made for a very joyous evening.

My favorite authentic French restaurant in Paris. The food and the atmosphere are amazing. 
I've tried the boeuf bourguignnon, frog legs and French onion soup. While in Paris, I always dine here.

La nourriture est délicieuse! Omg the best restaurant I ate in Paris! Definitely a must if I come back again in Paris!

Location: It is located 5 mins from Sacre Coeur! After visiting the church go here! The interior is a typical french restaurant, the outdoor dining is just lovely, real French experience!

Service: omg she was so nice! She gave us a lot of recommendations, and explained well what is in the menu!

Food: Everything was so delicious! Omg thinking about it I want to come back! ESCARGOT with BURGUNDIAN SAUCE: this is a must! There are 12 snails and that green sauce is so good! The snails are tender, I put it on a toast. BONE MARROW with TOAST and SALT: another favorite! The marrow was creamy and the salt complimented it! It is also good with the toast! BEEF BOURGUINON: my first one! It was so good! The sauce is delicious and the beef is tender, I wish I have rice! Lol SALMON with MASHED POTATO: the salmon is perfectly cooked and that sauce taste so good, the side vegetables are fresh.

Price rating: 7/10, the price matches all the deliciousness! Not bad for a Parisian restaurant.

I will come back here definitely when I go back to Paris. I will eat everything I ordered again! Get the escargot, it was the best!

If you're a tourist stop in here! The service was great and the locals that eat here seem to love the food as well. We were greeted by a hostess and by locals which was nice. They are connected to the restaurant that was across the way as well. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the prices all seemed reasonable. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Did we love this place??? Wi wi!!!!!! I wasn't a huge fan of other restaurants we visited in Paris until we came across this fantastic place. It's a true gem in the amazing neighborhood of Montmartre. If you go to the church of the sacred heart, you must stop to eat here. The owner was very pleasant and it was a great dining experience  for all of us. 

Decor-old world with lots of charm. It was small and quant, allows you to have a intimate time with the people you're dining with. 

Service-Great! They really took good care of us, completely different from other restraints. Service rocks here. 

Food-AMAZING!!! The best duck I'd ever had, and the escargot was also fantastic. I can't rave enough about this place, we really loved it. Large portions and large flavors. 

Very well done, come and see for yourself.
