We took advantage of the 30% discount for reserving on line. We had a great initial reaction. But then the wind blew the daily special board over onto our table knocking over several glasses spilling a beer, tossing water and beer all over the table. The owner/servers were no where around and we had to call them over to attend to the chaos. They thought we had done the damage. So they were a bit irked at us.

It was because they left the special board up to be blown over that caused the problem. But they were clueless, because they were all in the back of the house.

We thought the food specials were great. The escargot were large and plump , foie gras, and baked brie were wonderful.

The mains were good except the pork was dried out and had little flavor. The duck confit was good and decent portion size. The cod was not particularly memorable other than for the large portion size. And the veal was decent and good portion size.

This is my second visit to La Table de Genevieve in three months, and I'm still a fan. It's a few blocks away from the Pantheon, in an area dominated by student bars. The restaurant is small, and the ambiance cozy and whimsical, starting with the chairs named after movie stars (G. Depardieu and D. Vador). The staff is friendly but not invasive, and various while smells from the kitchen permeate the place (sharp munster wafted in at moments, and distracted us from our dessert), this adds to the familial feel.

The first time I was here, much of the menu was dominated by mushrooms: I thoroughly enjoyed a poached egg starter with duxelles (almost wished I had ordered two), and the duck main course came with mushrooms. I split a refreshing iced mango dessert (no mushrooms there).

The second time I dined here, I ordered the Brie de Meaux pané starter atop green apples and mâche (it turned out to be fancy terminology for cheese croquettes. The brie lends itself well to the croquette form!). I was tempted by the burrata starter (it was spelled "buratta" throughout the chalkboard menus), but my main course of duck filet came with a small pat of burrata, so I decided to give another cheese a chance.

I have to admit that the reason I selected the duck the second time was in order to have the mushrooms, which were absent from the menuboard. Sadly, there were none. The duck (and the burrata upon which it sat) were good, but just so. They came with lots of chickpea fries which the waiter talked up, and there was a dash of dark mustard flavored with cherry? Plum? I wasn't sure and forgot to ask--in which to dip the fries. I regret not getting the braised pork with potatoes in munster sauce, but I was allowed to taste my partner's.

I rounded this out with a deconstructed rhubarb crumble and fromage blanc sorbet. The rhubarb was deliciously sour, the crumble meltingly sweet, and the sorbet light and airy--perfect for tying the other flavors together.

Great little gem in the quarter latin, away from the masses of tourists. Good French fare at reasonable prices. A slow eating place- so don't think you will be served like fast food, but good attention and nice ambience. They also have English menus if you are challenged with the French version. We had a wonderful duck confit with foie gras and some snails (escargot) provenzal - delicious both. Then I had a braised pork with a rich cream sauce of blue cheese and my wife had a savory veal dish with champignons. Both were excellent. We shared a tasty dessert, a rhubarb crumble with cheese ice cream - subtly sweet. And when we got the bill, they offered complimentary digestive from Normandy. What a treat. Highly recommend while in Paris.

Looking for a small cozy bistro near The pantheon? This is the place. The escargots are divine. Had the braised the pig and a wonderful sausage with mashed potato, culminating with a mango and ice cream dessert. Add a reasonably priced bottle of a Provence rose and it's a beautiful evening.

It was delicious and the service was great oh and it has a cool name very appealing I would definitely recommend eating here my 14 year old son loved the snails and cod I for one had the braised pork and delectable

Solid restaurant in the Latin Quarter. Delicious, unpretentious, REAL food. Service was slow but in a good way- not rushed, calm but at the same time really present waiter who gave wonderful recommendations and was very attentive. Everyone at the restaurant seemed to be having a great time and enjoying every bite- as were we ;) The desert was TO DIE for. Do yourself a favor and come by.

This restaurant was amazing! I had the veal and it was perfect. The rest of my party also loved what they ordered (lamb and duck). I would highly recommend eating here!

The cod was amazing and the service bwaa quite respectable. The location and entrance view was nice and English was spoken if required.

Delicious and as authentic as it gets! A little 2-man operation near the Pantheon and lots of other cool Left Bank neighborhoods with an extremely friendly waiter (Nicolas) always ready with suggestions and wine pairings. If you want traditional French cuisine, come here. I could get into the dishes we had but everything was amazing so just order whatever you like.

The waiter spent the evening smoking inside the restaurant. Restaurant was full of smoke. Can't even say if the food was tasting good because of the smoke.
