A trip to Paris isn't complete without a trip to the Latin Quarter...with a late start for a night out, I was relieved I made it to L'Atlas before they closed.
Great Moroccan restaurant.
Price - $$$
Service could have been better, but...my lack of French...so, I'm calling it a wash.
Couscous dish was ok, I wish I would've eaten Tagines.
Moroccan tea was great.

I have been in the mood for Moroccan good and this restaurant hit the spot.  The waiter served potatoes and olives while I decided on what to order.  They were quite flavorful and the olives were spicy.  I enjoyed the Moroccan soup which was chick peas, lentils and rice with cilantro and parsely served with dates on the side.  The waiter convinced me to have the half bottle of morrocan red wine. Which at 1st sip I was not impressed but did grow on me throughout the meal.  For the main course I had the tangine with apricots which was served with coucous.  The lamb was tender and the over all dish was delicious.

My goal was to write a review that sealed the deal for you right now, the visitor thumbing through nearby restaurants looking for an outstanding meal but really willing to accept just 'rather good.' I found a place that lets me do just that. 

This was one of the best meals in recent memory in all categories. If you like Moroccan food or have never had it, this place is a must. When I say the lamb fell off the bone, I mean it literally. One of those rare meals where every individual ingredient was at the top of its class- lamb, carrots, stewed raisins, farm-raised chicken, everything. The couscous was perfect, and the lamb tagine held four large pieces of meat under a medly of veggies and most importantly, they cooked the meal inside the plain unglazed clay tagine rather than throwing it in one after cooking. Portion sizes are generous. 

The staff were very kind and included us in breaking the Ramadan fast by bringing a plate of dates before we ate simply because we used a word or two in Arabic. And the mint tea was a perfect cap to the meal, with a splash of orange essence. 

I would absolutely eat here every time I came to Paris.

Excellent food and service.  It started to quickly fill up after 8:00 so probably a reservation is in order.     We did the Couscous Princier and the vegetable couscous and mixed them together--an outstanding combo.  Started with the appetizer plate which had great seasonings.

Our first night in Paris and we found this little spot in or of the area we fit list in. We sat inside It was just to chilly to sit outside and people watch.  Idiots was nice and wag.   Very nicely decorated,  and as most restaurants in the area,  it was very cozy.  Love the jazz music playing, and the very friendly service...  very thankful that they speak English,  Spanish,  German, etc.  Just a few languages I hear them sspeak while we were there.

The house wine was very good.   We ordered the French onion soup, lamb and chicken dish.   All were good,  I thin6 I was just expecting to be blown away with our dishes,  but they were just good.   Wild I eat her again, yes.  Would I seek this restaurant out jus to eat here again,  no...

I noticed this place the other day and thought it might be worth trying an "upscale couscous" (which sounds a bit like an oxymoron) some day.  We walked instead to Founti Agadir, only to find that it had closed for summer vacation.  Having prepared no other fallback options, we doubled back and took a table at l'Atlas.

The lack of other patrons seemed like a bad sign, but I deem the place to be OK.  The décor is two notches nicer than at most Moroccan restaurants.  You get your white tablecloths and slightly more serious service than at normal couscous joints.  (I mean, after all, we're around the corner from the Tour d'Argent and across a fairly narrow street from Chez René.)  The basic couscous poulet has become a couscous poulet fermier; somebody blessed the chickens.  Prices are two notches higher than you might otherwise pay; that couscous poulet fermier runs 22 euros.

In the end, we had a very nice lunch and got something reasonably close to what we paid for.  The quality/price ratio is definitely higher at Founti Agadir, but l'Atlas didn't seem like a total ripoff.  I'd say that 2 3/4 stars is about right here.  YMMV.

This was definitely my best meal on this trip here in Paris and I have had some great food in this city. I had the beef burgundy with the pan fried foie gras and it was amazing. The buttery mashed potatoes that came with it were delicious as well. My friend had the veal and it was delicious as well. I would definitely recommend this place.

Super touristic.

I am so fond of st-germain district but I am disappointed about the food quality of this popular-appealing spot.

They featured in their oyster selection while it is rather fair. It is so-so fresh and my friend's lamb chop is too rare which made it hard to cut. Yea, you are right we should have followed the mainstrame for the Salon.

I would give this restaurant 3.5 stars, my aunt says 4, I say 3.  We both had the plats du jour.  I had grilled skewered prawns with a provencal sauce over rice, and she had veal with mushrooms and potatoes.  They were both good, but the veal was better. 

The wait staff spoke English, always a plus (we were sent here by our hotel). It seemed that the thing to order here were oysters, which were not our thing.  They had an enormous fish market on the street and "locals" sat outside, smoking cigarettes and eating HUGE platters of fresh, raw oysters.  

We'd probably come back here again, but most likely only for lunch.

I highly recommend the tajines which are excellent but not extra large; terrific fragrances of traditional spices. Classy service and a nice atmosphere, albeit busy.

Tajine excellentes, tant aux abricots et menthe, qu'au citron. Compter 100€pour trois avec vin. Servi e très agréable.
