The 15th Arrondisement (district) aka Vaugirard is largely residential and I was staying at a hotel there. Dinner time came and I asked a friend to suggest a reasonable restaurant. Bev suggested Le Murmure for home style cuisine. A red and white checked table cloth was set in front of me with a plate and flatware. Steak frites arrived with a salad. Just what I had wanted. I ate my fill devouring each and every flavorful chip. Dessert was a simple slice of a fruit tart. No adornment was needed. It was solid country fare and I ate every morsel with gusto.

I must say I was a little anxious when it came to having to decide on what to eat because the the menu was completely in French with no translation. There are not a lot of waiters or people I came across in general who spoke English, so for a tourist like me who doesn't speak a word of French, I was at a loss. I know, I know, Melissa what are you doing going to France not knowing at least the basics. Well that's just it, that's all I know, I got nothing else. Thankfully, the waiter came through for me in every way possible... making my experience a great one. He understood me, spoke English and French and was super helpful and kindhearted. I didn't get his name but he looked a lot like Martin Garrix (famous edm dj) lol. He asked what I liked, gave me recommendations- since you know, I couldn't understand anything on the menu and gave me his honest opinions on the food. 

For drinks, I got the caipirinha, the cup was a little small but wow it was strong. The prices were not bad and they gave a good size portion. I was really full after I left and very satisfied. The fish and chips was exceptionally yummy. It brought two different types of fish, the salmon was my favorite. We also got the grilled steak with noodles, another great plate.

This restaurant is clean, cozy, has inside/outside dining and a notably friendly staff. I was very content with my food and overall dining experience, I will return again.

Cozy, typical Paris corner restaurant with a rather small but tasty selection of food, decently priced. I personally like the burgers and salads. Good house wine.


 Always packed in the evening, reservations are a must. Great for dates, family or friends!


 Compared to similar places in Paris, they have an exceptionally (for Paris standards) friendly staff, most of them speak English.

It was late (all too typical when I travel for business), and I needed a neighborhood restaurant close to my hotel. Here, I found the best burger ever! That along with a pot (50cl) of vin rouge, and I couldn't imagine ordering dessert.

Although not atypical for Paris, I need to describe to Americans who might never have had a French burger: chopped, not ground, steak patty; with arugula, not lettuce; on a perfect brioche. Mayonnaise and ketchup is provided on the side. Stacked too tall to really eat in my hands, I settled for knife and fork. Needless to say, the accompanying salad of vinaigrette over spring greens and pommes frites were also good.

This iis a cafe/bar, so is open to 0200, and the music volume goes up a bit after 2300 although I was pleasantly surprised when they put on an entire Credence Clearwater Revival album!

Would definitely return.

Great neighborhood hangout. Most of the dishes are very delicious (and the select few that are not outstanding are still decent) and the restaurant is consistent. The ambiance is relaxed and intimate, so it's great for long conversations over a warm meal or even just a glass of wine.

This place gets really busy around peak dinner hours (in Paris that's around 8pm), so either arrive a bit earlier to beat the dinner rush or make a reservation!

The panna cotta is a must!

Delicious food with the best fries ever spoiled by some truly dreadful service. A waiter spilled wine over me with no offer of a replacement or dry cleaning. Another occasion I waited 30 minutes for service then felt compelled to leave. Pity as the food is good.

I went on the 4th of sept to the restaurant with 7 people.
Worst service ever
The waitress was rude and impolite
And the manager didnt care
Dont go to this restaurant again!!
I am really disapointed because we used to go before and it was one of the nicest place in the 15eme.
