Pot au Feu..I googled national dish of France, and this came up!  "Pot-au-feu is the national dish of France. This essential version combines beef shank and rump roast with eight vegetables and a blend of herbs for an extra-comforting bowl."  I had to try it!  Le Roi did not disappoint.  The pot a few was fragrant and comforting, very delicious! The restaurant made me feel like I've gone back in time, and very Parisian! Not fancy Parisian, just Parisian!  The memory makes me smile...

Le Roi du Pot au Feu is one of my favorite restaurants on the planet. I have been coming to see Eric for 35 years.  When I am sitting at a red and white checkered tablecloth with a bowl of boullion and a platter of meat, vegetables, cornichons, seas salt, marrow and dijon, I feel French!

The place is unassuming hole in the wall.  Nothing fancy in the outside but the Pot ay Feu is to die for.  Truly superb cooking and no embellishments, condiments needed. Simple fare that describes rustic French food.

You want homecooking?  You got it!  They serve their signature dish Pot au Feu, a massive platter of slow-cooked beef stew with potatoes, turnips, leeks, carrots and cabbages.  And it comes with bone marrow so you can spread it on bread and sprinkle salt on it.  Simply heavenly.  Good, honest, down-to-earth homecooking.  I found the beef a bit tough but that's just me.  My husband loved it.

Wonderful service.  They even came by to remind us to eat the beef stew with mustard.  House wine which was quite good.  I wish I had come here when I wasn't jetlagged and completely stuffed after a meal at Pavillon Ledoyen.  Regardless, I can see why locals come here to relax and enjoy dinner after a long day of work, especially on a cold evening.

Fun place. Food was basic bistro style. Beef stew was nice served with an amazing bone marrow. The house wine sitting on the table when you sit down is a delightful basic table wine. The chocolate mouse for dessert was very good.

If you're looking for traditional hearty and unpretentious comfort food this is your place.  The Pot au Feu will not disappoint and the bone marrow on toast with salt is the best part of the Pot au Feu.  Don't forget the mustard which makes the dish devine. 

The waitress and the waiter were super nice and put up with my franglish and helped me practice my French.  If you're tired off all the haute French food and are wanting something chill in a throw back restaurant from the 19th century check it out!

Took a long walk to get there but the food was amazing. !!  Worth the walk and 2 changes on the metro to get home

A nice and friendly restaurant serving Pot au Feu as their main and (almost) only dish.
A bottle of wine awaits you on the table. They didn't ask us what we wanted, and just asked "deux pots au feu?", to which we replied "oui, svp!". Very nice if you like pot au feu!
