Overall 4.25- we had a lovely time! The staff was very nice and spoke great English. We were the only English-speaking patrons in the restaurant the whole night, which made for a really nice, cozy, local experience. Food overall was great quality, especially if you come on a weekday (check their reservations online). We booked a 6 course meal for 40 euro each (normally 50+ euro)

They start everyone with an amuse, which was a lovely cold parsnip soup. We also had the open faced kohlrabi ravioli, escargot (tasted like mushrooms!), squash 3+ ways (with a delightful griddled polenta cake), lamb belly (our favorite! moist, full of umami, didn't even need a knife), chocolate sesame dessert #1, and roasted apple with meringue dome. We also shared one wine pairing. It wasn't really so much of a pairing as 4 glasses of excellent wine, and for good value at that. Thanks for a lovely evening!

WOW! This was by far the best meal I had in 10 days in Paris.  

I recommend that you come here for lunch!  This has to be the best value in the city: a set three-course lunch menu for 23 euro, of truly upscale, delicious, gourmet dishes.  This menu won't work if you have dietary restrictions or are a picky eater, as you don't get to make any choices.  But if you're open to eating whatever is put in front of you, don't think twice.

The service was fast, helpful, and friendly.  My guy spoke to our waiter in French, but I overheard other folks speaking English.  

When I visited, I had: an excellent terrine (like a rough pate), served with carmelized onions and a bit of buttery toast (and extra bread!); an absolutely delightful bit of pot-roast like meat, with tasty gnocci/spaetzle and a delightful crispy garnish; and one of the most impressive desserts I've had in my life: I'm not impressive enough to recall the name, but it's an island of meringue floating in vanilla custard, with shortbread on the side.  Incredible!  The food was beautiful and creative, and most important, delicious to boot.

We made a reservation for a weekday in the summer on LaFourchette/TheFork, but didn't need one.

I assume the prix-fixe lunch menu is different every day.  Next time I'm in Paris, I may just eat all my lunches at Monjul!

First time here. Food was creative and tasty(their take on Pork belly and Korean chilly sauce was very very interesting). Plates were well decorated. Wine by glass choices were a bit limited. Dessert was not as great as the starter and main. 

Three course dinner meal + two glasses of wine (6 euro each) came with 52 euro bill.

One of the most interesting and creative menus I have seen! Started with the carrot cake with pistachios- Carrot and cumin mousse, yellow carrot grout, lime and mashbrocoli. SO interesting right!? The presentation of this dish was beautiful. Honestly like a work of art. The cake was sweet yet savoury, super moist and just fantasticccc. I definitely would have eaten it again for dessert if I could. 

My main I had Sea bream brawned with butter and ginger, bouillabaisse, sage gnocchis, potatoes. First of all let's talk about that ONE potato piece they gave me. SOOO good! Lightly crispy on the outside and like a cloud in the inside. I wish they could've given me more potatoes and skipped the gnocchi because they were really bland and I actually didn't eat them (rare that happens). The fish was MOIST, cooked to perfection and flavoured just right :) The bouillabaisse was really fishy so I didn't touch it after my first taste. 

Lastly dessert. I chose a lemon cake, rosemary biscuits on top, candied mandarin oranges, with lemon foam and yogurt. HORRIBLE. I'm huge into desserts and this was actually disgusting. The cake was dry and dense, the icing on top was not working with the cake, but I really enjoyed the biscuits. I wish I just had one big Rosemary biscuit to eat instead of the whole plate haha. Then the cup of lemon foam and yogurt was SO sour. I understand it's lemon flavour but honestly you have to find the right balance. Didn't finish this. 

Maybe if you come here just get an appetizer and a main. The pastry/dessert chef here is really not good.

The ambiance of Monjul is lovely, and the service is great as well. Came here with a friend at 8:00pm on a weekday and did not have to wait at all. We used TheFork.com or LaFourchette.com for a 30% discount off the menu dégustation, consisting of two appetizers, two main courses, and two desserts. The presentation was beautiful and sophisticated, and the food was deliciously creative. 

It's quite on the pricy side, but I would recommend this restaurant for a romantic date.

We made reservations through Fourcette for a late lunch, 1:30 (13:30h). As we approached the place I realized we had been there before in 2008 when we first moved to Paris. I disliked it then because the waiters were rude and condescending. But I figure 5-years is a long time, things may have changed. There was one wait-person, he seemed hurried and as if he couldn't be bothered and just wanted get us served and out of there. Keep in mind it wasn't even a third filled.

At lunch, you don't have a choice, you basically get the menu. He went through it so fast, it was as if was speaking like a robot. I told him I don't' eat sugar, hence, I do not want desert and I will do it a la carte.

He took my companions wine order, and then just left. Excuse me, but I'm at the table too, you could ask me if I wanted something to drink as well, instead I had to call him back to get my wine order.

The food was OK, and above average. They brought a cheese plate for me, and I give them credit for that.  

Then we ordered another round of wine, not even 10-minutes after we got the wine, he put the bill on the table. I thought, this is NEVER done in France, unless you're in a tourist area or a cafe.

10-minutes later, still not finished with our wine, it was about 2:45 pm, and we were basically told to rush, cause they're closing. This is unheard of France to hurry and rush your patrons.

Will I go back, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! I'll leave this place to the tourist!

I'm all about the whole dining experience from start to finish!

I was recommended by this place by someone I trust very much in his choice of food, and after seeing the photos on their website, I had very high expectations. Had I just stumbled upon it while walking and ordered the same things, I probably would've given it 3 stars. 
Everything the DH ordered was extremely disappointing, and everything I ordered was ok. The food lacked focus, and many dishes felt like it was just "fusion for fusion's sake", as in: let's throw in some ginger and sesame oil and wasabi and curry and tomato-basil sauce all at the same time because culinary identity crisis is cool! 
It would've been fine if it tasted great, but most of it didn't.

Had my wedding here, and I've tried this place a few times.  I would definitely return.

The menu changes all the time, so sometimes i'm blown away and at others it's not as great, but still worth the price.  Very delicate, creative mix of flavors.  My wedding guests were super impressed, since wedding food is rarely this good.    We had one vegetarian at our wedding who was also impressed with the vegetarian options.  Oh and did I mention that we had 4 guests demand kosher food last minute, and the chef was able to come up with a kosher menu on the spot?  

The service is very attentive as well.

We made our reservation on line, 60 mts before opening hour at 20:00. It worked out fine, they were expecting us. Restaurant only opens at 20:00 but it was filling up quickly. Nice combination of posh and 'ordinary' guests, apart from our party-of-4 there were little or no tourists. 

We had a menu of 37.50, starter, main and desert. We could order all items on the menu card, some with a surcharge of couple of euros.  

Wines start at 25 euro per bottle, the suggested wine by the waiter was 33 euro, an excellent choice. 

Staff is busy all the time, but they are nice to deal with and speak English well. The menu is also in French and English, very convenient.

The courses were simply excellent. French through and through, but then that is what you are looking for in a restaurant like this. Portions were ok, selection of flavors surprising and nice.  

Guide gourmand was right in recommending this restaurant!

If I could describe the genius  superman and superwomen behind their divine  tasting and imaginative food !!  Get what go t and you'll visit heaven on earth immediately: steak tartar starter, beef tenderloin main, sheep cheesecake desert. Let the tall waiter with the blond hair  match you up with their fruity Cabernet.  Then  I want you to come back  and thank me. You'll die and go to heaven .
