Came for the croissant, amazed by the eclair!

Croissant was buttery, not as flakey as I would like it to be, but still a really good croissant!

The chocolate eclair was decadent, not too sweet, with just the right amount of chocolate creme pat.

Will revisit to try all of the other selections.

We bought all kinds of baking goods to try and all of them didn’t disappoint, especially the black sesame lemon cake was super delicious and the black sesame madeleine was just right, not too sweet and full of sesame flavour. The Halloween special (witch hat half croissant with passion fruit inside) was also good.

Best bakery/pastry I had in Paris so far. Sesame roll, cinnamon roll, galette de rois (mini) and came back for the nazioni and peanut pastry. Everything was exceptional. I will travel half of the city to eat here again. Absolutely brilliant.

The „pastry of the weekend” was definitely a highlight: fresh, perfectly layered, crunchy on the outside, filled with a perfectly balanced raspberry jam (very high quality, nicely sour, not too sweet).

I came to Paris with a list of bakeries to try - I figured I would try to do my part to help mankind discover the best in Paris…..a true sacrifice for sure!

I had seen Boulangerie Utopie on several of the lists of top bakeries in Paris. After trying 12 highly rated bakeries in Paris and gaining more than 10 pounds in my pursuit to find the best bakery, I’ll declare this my favorite.

Paris has so many great bakeries and cafes. You can find a great tart on almost every street corner.   I’ll lay out why this is my favorite of the “bakers dozen” :)

- I’ll start with the variety of items and the quality of the food. I had a piece of quiche and a chocolate tart. The quiche was incredibly light and fluffy, but completely full of flavor. The crust was flaky and tasty. I have never had a quiche like this one. It was filing but I also did not feel stuffed. The chocolate tart was melt in your mouth delicious. It had the perfect balance of firmness, creaminess while being incredibly moist. It was also delicately rich.

- The offering was complete. While most bakeries have 2-3 really delightful items, the case was chock full of options that were so incredibly tempting. The sandwiches and pastries looked delicious. Some bakeries put a lot of focus on making their pastries look “pretty”. While the pastries looked great, it was obvious that there is even more attention placed on making pastries taste delicious.

Finally, the staff and the vibe. There isn’t any seating but there is a counter I used to devour my amazing items. The staff were incredibly friendly to locals and tourists alike. They also had a really positive environment with a lot of good cheer spread throughout the place. It was very comfortable and cozy, even without dine in seating.

Boulangerie Utopie definitely hit the mark and exceeded all of my expectations. I was tempted to change my travel plans and stay another day just to visit this delightful little spot in the 11th district. The next time I’m in Paris, this will be my first stop!!
