Escargots were excellent!! The label rouge quality clearly shows.
The service from the staff was stellar.
The desserts delicious, the poached eggs with creamy cepes exquisite.
The fish soup delicious as well.
Great place without any doubts!

There is better food in the city, granted, but you will find it hard to find a better overall package. Simply a fantastic place to eat in Paris - a real institution in the city.

Everything on the menu is good. The service is generally excellent and the atmosphere is a throwback to earlier years in the city.

Our experience at Brasserie Lipp was a mix of highs and lows. The food was undeniably excellent, with every dish meeting or exceeding expectations. The ambiance added to the charm, with its wooden interiors creating a cozy and nostalgic atmosphere that beautifully captures the essence of historical Paris. Service timing was also spot-on, and the abundance of taxis waiting outside made the trip back to our hotel effortless.

However, the overall experience was not without its drawbacks. While the décor reflects the restaurant’s storied past, it also feels quite outdated. The tables are so closely packed that waiters had to physically move them to seat us, which made the environment feel cramped and less comfortable.

As first-time visitors to both Brasserie Lipp and Parisian dining in general, we were disappointed by the lack of guidance from the staff. The waiter offered no help in navigating the menu, leaving us feeling a bit lost. It would have been so helpful to receive recommendations, ingredient explanations, or even a little insight into the restaurant’s specialties. Unfortunately, the staff came across as indifferent, which detracted from what could have been a more welcoming experience, especially for tourists like us.

Old but stylish classic French brasserie… all the food we had was amazing. Top notch service and experience when it comes to classic French. Trust their specials on the menu and you can’t go wrong. It’s helpful if you can speak some French, it helps but there’s also English speaking service stuff available. They will adore if you do speak French as a tourist :) make sure to book as the place is usually full. Even locals go for dinner here.

Brasserie Lipp is a fantastic spot for authentic French brasserie cuisine. The menu is packed with dishes I’ve never tried before, which made it an exciting experience! The Pig Knuckle with Sauerkraut was absolutely delicious – definitely a standout dish.

The staff were incredibly efficient and welcoming, and it’s dog-friendly, which was a big bonus. I also appreciated their thoughtfulness – when they saw me struggling a bit with the menu, they quickly provided a QR code for an English version, which was a nice touch.

The atmosphere was busy but intimate, making it a great place to soak in the brasserie vibe. It’s also part of the Amex Platinum dining credit, which is a great perk. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a classic French dining experience!
