I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Express Paris - Canal. The location was very strategic for getting around the city, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. My kids especially enjoyed the lovely playground near to the hotel, which was a great bonus! My only constructive suggestion would be to improve the breakfast options. While the breakfast was good, the selection was somewhat limited. Overall, I had a positive experience and would recommend this hotel, particularly for families with children.

Immediately after making my reservation I had serious doubts about whether I should stay here. Not because of the hotel, but because of the area - away from the city center and based on many influencer recommendations - not a place you’d want to stay in.
I WAS VERY WRONG.
After numerous emails with hotel staff, who assured me that the area around the hotel was as safe as any in the city center, I arrived and felt completely at ease after seeing how presentable the building was - inside and out.
Every staff member I interacted with was courteous and spoke not only English, but also Spanish. The food was very good and plentiful, the room was spacious and clean. The view of the canal was beautiful, especially at night!
I would absolutely recommend this hotel if you want something away from the center but not too away, but also because, for families, it’s worth it when breakfast is free.

We recently stayed here for two nights, we had an exceptional stay. On arrival we were greeted by lovely staff - a special mention to Ibrahim who was so welcoming and also very kind to my two children who was visiting especially as it was a special visit for my daughter's birthday. He had excellent customer service and went above and beyond to make our stay amazing.

The room was clean, spacious and had lovely views out onto the canal where we could see boats coming past. The room had tea and coffee making facilities, towels, hairdryer and toiletries in the bathroom. I found the beds comfy and there was no complaints from the children either.

The area around the canal is nice, plenty locals enjoying the area, walking their dogs and out for a run etc. The hotel is situated very close to the Paris metro system, so although further out from the tourist attractions it was easily accessed using the metro. We used the riquet metro stop which was one street away and we felt safe (myself and two children) walking to and from there in the evenings on return from Paris centre each day. There was also plenty cafes, restaurants and supermarkets close by to get anything you needed.

We had breakfast at the hotel which we enjoyed, we went down early as it opened around 7am before we headed out for the day, the croissants and pastries were fresh and warm, there was plenty to choose from. My children enjoyed the pancakes, cereal and pastries. There was plenty to choose from and I enjoyed the cup of tea with my pastries filling up before our days out.

Check in and out was quick and easy with no problem with all staff very friendly.

We would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

We've stayed in this hotel many times over the last 10 years or so, and it has become our favorite Parisian home away from home. My mother is there for extended stays a couple of times a year and I usually join her for two or three weeks at a time. The hotel is beautifully situated on a canal in the northeastern part of Paris, which gives it an unexpected waterfront atmosphere, and there are many good cafes and dining options nearby. It's a lively neighborhood but not as hectic as other, more touristy parts of Paris, and it is also very convenient to two metro lines within easy walking distance. The rooms are comfortable, well-appointed, and surprisingly large for a Paris hotel. But what makes this a really special place are the people who work there, from the unfailingly helpful, efficient, and courteous front desk staff, to the people working in the bar and the breakfast room, to those who clean the rooms every day. The front desk and most other staff speak very good English, and do their very best to make guests feel welcome and comfortable, wherever they might be from or whatever language they might speak. A good sign of a well-managed hotel is the longevity of the staff, and we're always pleased to see familiar faces when we return year after year. We count many of them among our friends now, and appreciate their warm welcome whenever we come in the door. If you're looking for a comfortable place to stay in a pleasant neighborhood in Paris, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express La Villette!

A pretty solid choice for visiting Paris.
The location is very good, and there are multiple metro stations at walking distance.
The hotel has a parking garage for a reasonable price.

The rooms are small, as may be expected in Paris, so no surprises there.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
The breakfast was pretty disappointing; bad juice, bake-off croissants and bland eggs, so I’d certainly suggest to explore the options in the neighborhood for that.
