However, to be honest, the music didn’t quite match my taste—it felt like ordering an espresso but getting a watered-down Americano instead. The atmosphere was there, but the flavor was lacking.

The venue was incredibly small, and the dance floor barely had enough space for people to spin around without stepping on each other’s toes. The crowd was packed like sardines in a can, and the air was so thin that I began to suspect I was undergoing high-altitude training. After 30 minutes, I felt like I was suffocating, and one thought kept running through my mind: if anything went wrong, I might just end up stuck here forever.

The organizers invited some dancers to perform, but the scene was far from what I expected. I want to start off by saying the music and the musicians are amazing!!! The ambiance of the bar itself is great. However, they have to figure out how to limit the amount of people who can get in, especially as most of them are tourists who come for the hype and not to enjoy the music. They will just stand there with their phones in the air, you can’t move and everyone fights for a place to sit or stand. Great place to listen to some amazing jazz, but unless you get there 30 minutes before opening you won’t get a seat. It’s great that students get in cheaper, and the prices at the bar are okay. Love the bar, hate the posers.

The first time I went to a jazz bar and it was an amazing experience. If you get into the place early, there aren’t many people, and you can see some other visitors dancing while the jazz band performs. The place is very popular, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. When my friend and I arrived at opening time, we had to wait about 15 minutes. There’s often a long queue, but it’s definitely worth the wait.

Cave de la Huchette exceeded all my expectations! The venue is a true underground jazz club, with an incredible atmosphere that transports you back in time. We had the pleasure of listening to Blues Monday on the night we visited, and we instantly became fans. If we ever return to Paris, this will undoubtedly be a must-visit spot once again!
