A beautiful triple archway which was one of the gates to the city. It has lovely solid proportions and some great friezes. It’s looking a little dirty and given that it sits in the middle of a busy intersection this is not surprising. There is some rubbish and furniture dumped at the base which is unfortunate.

Beautiful historical landmark in the 10th arrondissement of Paris.
The form is a bit similar to Arch the Triumph but it’s belong to Saint Martin the brother of Saint Denis.

If you pay attention clearly to its detail of the relief on the sculpture you will find that also beautiful historical and detailed relief.

Louis XIV was a bad lad - couldn’t get enough of warring and whoring.  And seriously what had the Batavians ever done to deserve his wrath - don’t answer that.  St Martin is St Denys’ little brother and feels a little unloved - as though someone tried to clean it with the wrong stuff and then slipped away without making good their mess.  Be careful if walking through the arch.  The guano spattered pavement tells its own story.
