We had a brilliant visit to La Cooperative. The Riberach Hotel is in a gorgeous setting, perched on a hillside among vineyards and lavender fields. We arrived early so were the first ones in the restaurant, but were able to enjoy an aperitif (two excellent local sweet wines from Rivesaltes and Banyuls) before the meal. We opted for the four course tasting menu with accompanying wines, but when you include the two amuse bouches and a palette cleanser before dessert, it effectively became a 7 course meal. Each course was fantastic, both in taste and presentation, and the wines were well-matched.

The only real negative was that there were quite a few flies around because due to the wind the large doors to the outside terrace were closed. There's nothing the restaurant could do about this of course, and the staff apologised on a number of occasions for the flies. The food and service were so good that it didn't matter.

Well worth a visit if you're in Belesta itself or anywhere within driving distance. It's not a cheap meal, but for the quality we found it very reasonable.

Reserved without knowing very much and I am glad we came! Had a wonderful time. Room was excellent and the food was even better. Will be back!
