L’Alter Native is the new second restaurant, fish-centric, of the great chef Gilles Goujon.  Quality and experience worthy of his name.  I share three memorable dishes:

Great experience. We‘ve just had lunch in L‘Alter-Native and are both very delighted: the food and its presentation and taste, the staff and its service, the sommelier and its wines, the atmosphere  - everything was amazing. During a recent visit to Beziers, we had the pleasure of dining at L'Alternative, a restaurant known for its fusion cuisine. We opted for the 7-course tasting menu, eager to experience the chef's creativity.
The meal started promisingly with beautifully presented dishes that showcased the chef's flair for visual appeal, though they didn't quite reach the level of outstanding. The best aspects of the dining experience were undoubtedly the vegetable dishes, which featured ingredients fresh from the garden. These plates stood out for their vibrant flavors and clear dedication to high-quality, local produce.
The turbot was another highlight, perfectly cooked and elegantly presented. Each bite was a testament to the chef's skill in handling seafood, making it a memorable part of the meal.

The wine list at L'Alternative was impressive, offering a comprehensive selection that catered to all tastes and budgets. Whether you're a connoisseur or simply looking for a good pairing, there's something for everyone.

We chose to sit outside, and it was a delightful choice. The evening was pleasant, and the outdoor ambience added a lovely touch to our dining experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, enhancing our overall enjoyment with their attentive service.
However, despite the beautiful presentation and the quality of the ingredients, the overall taste of the dishes didn't quite deliver the "wow" factor we were hoping for. The fusion of flavors, while good, lacked the boldness and excitement that makes a meal truly unforgettable.

In summary, L'Alternative offers a pleasant dining experience with high points in its vegetable dishes and wine selection. While the taste might not have been extraordinary, the perfect turbot and pleasant ambience make it worth a visit, especially if you appreciate fresh, garden-sourced ingredients and a varied wine list.
