Absolutely incredible stay at Chateau De La Treyne. My husband and I stayed 2 nights for our anniversary - in the Cardinale room at the top of the tallest tower. It was the most unique hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff was so amazing and so kind. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the atmosphere was unmatched. The terrace had the most beautiful views of the river. The chateau grounds were also extremely beautiful. Will absolutely be returning in the future next time we visit this region of France. The chateau is a bit remote but worth the trip. I would recommend coming with a car.

An incredible experience! Our room had a sofa/ sitting area, king bed, and the largest bathroom we have ever had, with elegant double sinks, a make up area, toilet room, shower room, and a gorgeous bath tub. Rooms have lovely antique furniture and our room was above the Dordogne River with a beautiful view. Storm windows and room darkening curtains open and close with the push of a button, all in a 14th century castle. We stayed in La Favorita, with a large closet and dressing area and a separate dining room where we ate our room service breakfasts. All the staff is friendly and unpretentious and service happens while you are out. We spent quite a bit of time in our lovely room yet as soon as we left, the room was magically serviced with no detail forgotten. The Michelin star restaurant served the best food we had in the Bordeaux region, again, served promptly and without pretension. We loved this place! The location is in the countryside but only a few miles from lovely gardens, small villages, and Rocamadour. I cannot say enough about this place! The proprietor and staff are knowledgeable, kind, friendly, and we met likeminded fellow guests in this small and luxurious chateau.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!

Our recent dining experience at Château de la Treyne in France was an absolute nightmare, and I strongly advise anyone considering this establishment to rethink their decision.

We were a group of 16 people, and despite our bill totaling a staggering €2800, the service we received was nothing short of abysmal. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff had no interest in providing a pleasant dining experience. The room was swarming with flies, creating an unhygienic and uncomfortable atmosphere.

The waiter in charge of our room was extremely rude and unprofessional. He switched everyone’s plates, creating confusion and dissatisfaction among our group. What made matters worse was his refusal to apologize or correct the mistake. Since the meal was preordered days in advance, we were not given the opportunity to reorder, leaving us stuck with incorrect dishes that we did not want.

This level of incompetence and disrespect is unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one that charges such exorbitant prices. The food was cold and had no taste at all.

If you value good service and a pleasant dining experience, avoid Château de la Treyne at all costs. There are plenty of other establishments where your time, money, and appetite will be better respected and appreciated.

Beautifully appointed property with excellent service. a little out of the way but perched on a cliff over the Dordogne made the place xtra special. this was a repeat visit and wont be trhe last. everything was impeccable.
