Amazing place. Breath taking views all round. From the summit you can see for miles. The road is wide enough in most places but for most of the length there are no crash barriers. The pass can be closed at different altitudes be means of barriers. You will find many cyclists and motorbikes on this tract. Approach the hairpins with caution and take care of heavy breaking. Not many spots to stop on the way to enjoy the view so stop when ever one finds a clearing.

This is a great place for skiing/ snowboarding. There are enough slopes to enjoy the great nature in a not so touristic ski area. We stayed in a hotel called Sant Roche which is run by a Dutch family. They really made sure our stay was awesome! If you want you can also get a pass for a greater ski area but then you have to drive a bit around 30 mins to get there. All together we had a great holiday in this place.

In summer there are plenty options to excercise in the mountains. I did some hiking, mtbiking and road cycling around Les Alpes d'Huez this summer. The cable cars timetables are useful to know so check before leaving the station.
