Surprisingly not very busy. This is in the heart of embassy and financial bank area, so likely does a lot of during the day business. Old school Bavarian bistro vibe. Weiner Schnitzel is incredibly good; well seasoned and perfect light crispy batter. Meat is pounded thin enough and tender. Spaetzle and onions are flavorful and done perfectly but just a bit too greasy. The onions cover the delicate flavor of the spaetzle so it's best to have them separately (though it's not traditional). The trout is whole and flaky and moist. It's filleted at the table on request (they ask). It was done beautifully. The parsley potatoes are a fine side. The cucumber salad needs a bit more vinegar, but otherwise fine. The apple strudel is fantastic. Don't miss it. We had a Wednesday reservation, but we would have got in anyway. The mains are the star of the meal, and make it worth the visit!

The food is good; adequate. The problem is the service. We stopped and were treated incredibly dismissively, despite speaking proper German with the manager. One waiter took pity on us & said he'd arrange a table, much to the clear irritation of the guy apparently in charge. Once seated, our server waited on us promptly, but it was hard to get past the jerk at the front. Next time, we'll go somewhere else, it's not like you can't swing a dead cat in Berlin & find a place that serves German food or cake & coffee. Meanwhile, a guy sitting alone at a table for 4 with an empty coffee cup when we got there, left his table as we were leaving and his 8€ receipt was on the table- so they'd give up a 125€ table rather than discourage remote work warriors... interesting customer service & economic plan, I wish them well with both.

Racism arrogant & rude~ the I arrive at 21:25 , the reception talked German to me, I could only understand English, then the guy says it means good evening and I have to say good evening. I could understand he wants to teach, but in the other way they're rude and without knowing it.

On our last night in Berlin we stopped by Einstein on the way back to our hotel to get the one dessert that had eluded us during our time in the city, apple strudel. Having walked by Einstein multiple times given its proximity to our hotel, we'd seen people enjoying coffee and pastries on the sidewalk. It looked like a cute place and upon walking in, we found that it had old school cafe charm with dark leather seats and wooden accents. Desserts were on display around the counter, and service was slow but polite. We tried the apple strudel and a slice of the pear tart. The strudel crust was beautifully flaky and light and the apple filling was plentiful and very tart. It wasn't warm enough to melt the ice cream but that didn't deter us from eating the ice cream! Interestingly, we liked the pear tart better than the strudel. The pears were soft enough to eat comfortably without being limp and they were perfectly assembled on the butter crust. It was so good! We were told that Einstein has one of the best strudels in the city so of course we had to check it out. Having the authentic version was a good experience but if I return, I'll try some of their other desserts which looked delicious!

Super slow service really keeps this place from being rated more highly. We all liked the white asparagus with potatoes (we had as an appetizer). The pike in asparagus risotto and my raviolis with spinach were very good but we were underwhelmed by the schnitzel and the goulash with the overcooked meat (a recurring theme in German cuisine.... No wonder the French can't abide by them). We loved the Kaiserschmarm dessert and I loved the mincemeat-like Apple strudel (but many at the table objected). Unresponsive service, as mentioned, was very annoying. So much for German efficiency.

We called 10 min ahead after visiting the Brandenburg Gate at about 630 pm and they set up a beauty white table cloth table in back. Two had goulash and two had the cheesy spaetzle...both fantastic. The cheesey spaetzle sounded weird but was actually incredibly tasty with onions cheese and fried onions on top...shiukd at least share one of these next time. All went down with a great $39 Gruner Ventliner. Service was great.

We came here for dessert because we were told that it was the best apple strudel in all of Berlin. We thought it was just ok. I had this cream puff thing and it was amazing. It was a little weird that the waitress asked if she could keep the change as her tip. I was going to tip her, but it was just weird, I've never been asked that. The atmosphere is nice and the place was very clean. They also had clean and free restrooms for the customers.

If you're looking for a hearty breakfast or on the search for brunch, Einstein is your place! My fiance and I split the Einstein Sunday Breakfast and got the most adorable three-tiered sampler of cheeses, meats, fruit, and yogurt. We also got a bread basket with an assortment of rolls, croissants, and loafs that were all really well-made and served with butter/jams. The Germans really know how to do breakfast right!

Very cosy outdoor-serving, with a view over Unter den Linden. The waiter serving our table was kind and kept mixing french words in his sentences. Although I think it was pure show off it was kind of authentic and charming. A sense of sidewalk cafes in Paris. The food here is quite expensive, but they also serve dishes at reasonable prices, for example lunch. I ordered the avocado sandwich with oven baked tomatoes, this was an openfaced sandwich, which would have been nice to know. It tasted really good, and was a perfect lunch. When I ordered the waiter asked if I would like French fries or a salad as a side to my sandwich. I answered the salad, but this never came. I first remembered it was missing, when we had left. My boyfriend ordered their cold cucumber soup with salmon tartare. He loved it and it was perfect for a warm day in Berlin. All in all a very nice experience in Berlin mitte.

This is a good spot for breakfast, albeit pricey - everything felt like it was inflated by a couple euros. Menus have both German and English on them, and the staff all spoke English. There are plenty of vegetarian options, as well as typical German breakfast platters, a large number of eggs dishes, etc. And the latte was surprisingly decent. I recommend it if you're looking for a tasty breakfast in this area. (Otherwise, head to Kreuzberg or Schöneberg and you'll get the same quality food for a quarter the price)
