Biggest urban open space I've ever been. The place is great for cycling, running, and other sports such as kiting.
There were showers of rain when we were visiting the site, and there's a serious lack of shelters to protect from it.
There's an exhibition in the airport tower, locate at the southern side of the building. You can visit the tower rooftop by purchasing the ticket.
I imagine that the use of this space may be very different in the summer.

Really interesting historical point of interest. Enjoyed a long walk of nearly 2k across the site. Saw an old aeroplane and old terminal buildings too

Tempelhof Fields is where Berlin just gets it right. Planes don’t fly here anymore, and thank God for that—it’s now one giant playground for everyone. We grabbed a pizza nearby, found a spot on the old runway, and just chilled while life happened around us.

Some guy was walking his dog that definitely didn’t want to be walked, another was pulling off wild flips on rollerblades, and then there was this skater who took a tumble and shuffled home looking all kinds of defeated. Pure entertainment.

The best part? The vibe. You’ve got these massive open spaces where you can breathe in deeply, surrounded by all kinds of quirky Berliners doing their thing. No rules, no judgments. And yeah, sometimes the wind here is intense—whether you use it to fly a kite or just let it mess up your hair is up to you.

Tempelhof isn’t just a park; it’s a whole mood. If you’re in Berlin and want to feel the city’s heartbeat, this is the place.

Nice place for a walk with a lot of free space. There are some cafes, so you can grab a coffee/tea or glühwein and even some food including bretzel and cover yourself in a nice warm blanket.

Quite some sport activities are happening there, e.g. skateboarding, running, kite skating. It's often really windy there. You can bike or go by e-scooter.

A lot of space for dogs and a high chance to find a friend for your pet.

I like to walk there and to feel this amount of empty space in the city.

My visit was in 2019 and it just seemed like a really cool space that everyone was enjoying.

It was really interesting historically to wander around and see the airport building.  There seemed to be something going on when I visited, though I have no idea what.

Outside on the fields there were all sorts of people using the space.  They were skating, had wind surfskate boards , kites , bikes. People were just sat reading or having a walk like I was.  It was a massive bit of land and it was good to see it had been given to be used by the public rather than wasted.
