I was there about 9pm by chance. It is a luxurious and very comfortable Bar for a Date with a Man you cherish. Not too busy, dimmed Lights, Club Music like in my Youth and a lot of Spirits and tasty Cocktails to choose from.

Look at the reviews - the only positive ones are from long long time ago. We went there after one year recently and it was really super super weird.

There is this bouncer guy, probably Russian, who is being super rude to people, kicking them away, raising his voice, taking chairs away from your table without asking. Ridiculous and super rude. It is crazy that Waldorf Astoria allows this kind of operations in their premises. It was nice some time ago, but now really you can find nicer places.

I think everyone has their own idea of what constitutes a classic cocktail bar - for me, this is it. I still recall the first time i walked in & felt like i'd landed in an Art Deco period movie... It's certainly a luxe setting; velvet lounges, restful lighting and staff that like you to be at ease. We first visited Berlin in 2016 & while staying nearby, celebrated our anniversary with some cocktails at The Lang.I was introduced to my favourite rum (a 15yr El Dorado) by the wonderful barman on that occasion. We've returned to the city 4 times since & it's become a wee treat to visit the Lang & enjoy a cocktail or two (or 3!) for more anniversaries & birthdays. Their newest menu (Oct23) had some quite innovative options which did not disappoint. An indulgence and thoroughly treasured.

Weird vibe here. I’m a guest at the Waldorf Astoria and wanted to see the bar one evening. I was met at the door by a bouncer who stepped into my path and didn’t say a word. It was extremely awkward and passive aggressive. Not one word. He just stood there. I finally had to ask him if he had a question. His response to me was, “do YOU have a question?” What a bizarre way to act. He eventually stepped aside. Still not a word to explain what he was doing. I had to ask the hotel front desk if there’s something wrong with me. They said no, they just act like this at the bar (which is not operated by the hotel). I’ve felt unwelcome at times during my ten-day stay at the Waldorf and in its facilities. Maybe this is just how bars are here.

I love this bar!

They have a good team back in the saddle now, very good luck to them!

It's expensive, but you pay for really good service, discretion and privacy!

Let's hope their bar food offer gets back to being as good as it was in former times;)
