the atmosphere was amazing, knowing some of the history of the place. we loved it. the selection of tastes in both the bar and the restaurant was absolutely masterful. we chose the 4 course menu and the wines were selected accordingly. new favourite wine btw (le grand fumé) the different layers and compositions of the various tastes were just artfully arranged. the few hours we stayed here were very well spent.
this place made a lasting impression.

Visited the bar for a quick drink in Berlin. The atmosphere and drinks were very well done and fairly priced I must say! The drinks are kind of a surprise, as they don't tell you what kind of liquor and mixes are used, but give just a description on the key flavors involved. One of the best parts of our experience though was our lovely waitress Lilly! She was knowledgeable, informative, and super pleasant and welcoming. She answered all our questions, gave excellent service, and also some tips about places to visit in Berlin. Thank you Lilly for taking our experience at Lovis from great to amazing!!!

Absolutely worth whatever travel necessary! The atmosphere is the definition of unique, the former prison-turned-restauarant is nothing I ever expected to see (and so glad I did). The service is excellent - everyone is attentive and very knowledgeable about the food they serve.

I had the sourdough bread (that whipped butter will be something I dream about), the onion consomme, veal shoulder, and pumpkin seed ice cream. The consomme was delicious, the gruyere was a perfect addition. The veal was tender and velvety, I didn't know veal could taste that good. The dessert was similarly inspired, with the pieces of ginger cake complimenting the pumpkin seed ice cream delicately.

Cocktails are not to be missed, either! The No. 101 is refreshing and pairs well with whatever one is eating.

Truly an excellent meal, and Lovis is not to be overlooked when planning special dinners.

Really cool restaurant set in a former prison. It is fine dining but without being stuck up. The food was great, we really enjoyed the tasting menu. The wine pairing was good but there were a few plates we thought the wine and food didn't quite click (for our amateurish palates at least). Service was also really good, they were really on top of everything.

Nice high end restaurant. I attended for work dinner with a big group. Food was good, portions are small. Wine was great! It seemed like the private dining area was arranged in the walkthrough between two parts of the restaurant which resulted in guest and staff traffic - I found that a bit of a bizarre arrangement.
