We were so excited to go to this place, we heard such good things about it. It was not worth it. Upon arriving we were given menus but not the wine list. We waited and asked for the wine list and once  received we were asked what we wanted to eat. We ordered our food, chose a wine and had to wait for the server to return. She did not. So we ordered the wine from another server. The wine arrived and the food arrived. We both ordered the beef but cooked differently. One of us got pepper. The dishes were reversed and we switched. So one got pepper but does not use pepper. So we ate. The food was good. We drank our wine. It was good. After we finished we waited,,,,,and waited. Finally we got to order dessert. We ordered a cheese plate. It took 20 minutes for the cheese to arrive. It was unceremoniously dropped on our table no description of the cheeses. Nothing. After eating we waited and waited for the check. It finally arrived after asking a staff member for the check and we were asked for a tip. We politely declined as we received no service. The food was good but there was no service. It was not pleasant as we spent most our 2 hours just waiting. This is a definite skip in my books.

One of the institutions in Frankfurt they say, make us want to try this modern European restaurant.

We came without reservation but we managed to get a high table at the bar which is surprisingly very comfortable.

Service was quick, kind and attentive. 10/10
They even cooked me the saffron linguini with 6 prawns which is not in the menu. We also saw they try to accommodate those who didn’t make reservation.

Foods were all great. 9/10

Ambience also very nice. Casual chic.

So I guess it is still one of the institutions here in Frankfurt. For us at least who first timer here in Frankfurt.

Amazing mushroom soup and tender duck breast that hit the spot at so many levels.
The restaurant also has a lunch set that is very reasonable although I didn’t go for that.
This is a place I will revisit for sure the next time I am in the city !

We got to this restaurant with no reservations. Luckily there was an available table. The staff was friendly.
The food was excellent. We loved the beef fillet, the soup, and the wonderful desserts: Creme brûlée and cheese cake that was light, not too heavy.

I felt that the place is mainly for business dinners rather than family or social gatherings aside from business. However the food was not special aside from the artistic presentation. The beef carpaccio has so many toppings that I couldn’t find its taste . The fish was tasteless although I like the taste of lentils and parsnips purée. Service was good .
