We had booked „Gewürze der Welt“ and the whole experience was splendid. The service was good, the 5. courses menu exceeded my expectations. The chef explained every dishes in details and with humour. I especially love how he combines ingredients in an unique way. It might be too unusual for some guests but I like to try new things. We will certainly come back again. Please continue to be experimental.

» Comment: The gourmet restaurant now offers the option of a so-called "Chef's Choice", whereby the team, rather than the guests themselves, selects the individual dishes from a predetermined list. In this case, the price is somewhat reduced and I learned that the restaurant places a certain emphasis on vegetarian dishes in this case.

With regard to the food, I particularly liked the main course with pork. As for the wine, I would highlight what I thought was an outstanding Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa and an outstanding Garnacha from Spain (Rioja). The restaurant lived up to my very high expectations.

Auf den Innenbereich habe ich nur einen kurzen Blick geworfen, aber der Außenbereich war sehr gemütlich. Bei fortschreitender Dunkelheit wurden verschiedene, stimmige Beleuchtungsoptionen angeboten.

Der Service war kompetent, freundlich und erfreulich unprätentiös. Das ist nicht immer der Fall, wenn man alkoholfrei bleibt ;). Ich habe mich zu jeder Zeit gut aufgehoben gefühlt.

Nun aber zum Entscheidenden Teil: Dem Menü.

Schon der Einstieg lief gut. Das Brot wurde noch warm angereicht. Dazu gab es klassisch Butter, einen Kräuter-Dip, sowie Aioli vom schwarzen Knoblauch. Das Brot hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt und es wurde auch reichlich nachgereicht. Zudem gab es gebrannte Cashews.

Der Gruß des Hauses gehörte zu den schwächeren Gerichten des Tages, bot er doch relativ unspektakuläre Geschmacksnoten.
Mit dem 1. Gang kam allerdings auch der erste Treffer. Ein leicht frittierter, wilder Brokkoli auf Erbsenpüree, mit etwas Crunch, ein sehr guter Start!
Das Tartar war ebenfalls ansprechend, fiel aber im Vergleich zur sonstigen Qualität etwas ab.
Danach kam mein erstes Highlight des Abends: Sellerie in verschiedenen Konsistenzen, ein Safran-Schaum und dazu Pumpernickel-Crunch. Ein wahnsinnig stimmiges Gericht, welches einfach nur Spaß gemacht hat.
Als Fischgang wartete eine Rotbarbe auf roten Linsen und Zucchini-Blüte, dazu Kapern-Bernaisse und einer Paste auf Sardinen-Basis. Handwerklich ebenfalls sehr gut, aufgrund meiner eher mediterranen Erfahrung mit Zucchini-Blüten(wo sie meist gefüllt sind), hatte ich eine andere Erwartungshaltung. Das ist aber Geschmacksache.
Der Fleischgang mit der Kombination von Iberico und Räucheraal war einfach ein Gedicht. Diesen Gang muss man einfach probiert haben und ich bin im Nachhinein unheimlich froh, nicht die vegetarische Menü-Variante gewählt zu haben, denn das hätte ich ungern verpasst.

Das Matcha-Desert gefiel mir auch gut, wobei ich einfach nicht mehr zum Desert-Menschen werde.

Alles in allem war ich sehr zufrieden mit dem Abend und habe für das Essen sehr gerne die etwas schwierige Anreise in Kauf genommen(Ich habe Ober- und Niederkassel verwechselt und mit öffentlichem Nahverkehr ist das Clostermanns nicht ideal zu erreichen ;) ). Gerne wieder!

I only took a quick look at the inside, but the outside area was very comfortable. As darkness progressed, various harmonious lighting options were offered.

The service was competent, friendly and pleasantly unpretentious. That's not always the case if you stay alcohol-free ;). I felt like I was in good hands at all times.

But now to the crucial part: the menu.

The start went well. The bread was served while still warm. There was also classic butter, a herb dip and black garlic aioli. I really enjoyed the bread and there was plenty of it. There were also burnt cashews.

The house greeting was one of the weaker dishes of the day, offering relatively unspectacular flavors.
However, the first hit came with first gear. A lightly fried wild broccoli on mushy peas, with a bit of crunch, a very good start!
The tartare was also appealing, but fell a bit short compared to the rest of the quality.
Then came my first highlight of the evening: celery in different consistencies, a saffron foam and pumpernickel crunch. An incredibly harmonious dish that was just plain fun.
The fish course was red mullet on red lentils and zucchini flowers, with caper Bernaisse and a sardine-based paste. The craftsmanship is also very good, but due to my more Mediterranean experience with zucchini flowers (where they are usually filled), I had different expectations. But that is a matter of taste.
The meat course with the combination of Iberico and smoked eel was simply a poem. You simply have to try this course and in retrospect I'm incredibly glad I didn't choose the vegetarian menu option because I wouldn't have liked to have missed it.

I also liked the matcha desert, although I'm just not becoming a desert person anymore.

All in all, I was very satisfied with the evening and was happy to accept the somewhat difficult journey to get the meal (I mixed up Oberkassel and Niederkassel and Clostermanns is not ideal to reach by public transport ;) ). Gladly again!

Ein toller Abend mit einem sehr guten 5 Gänge Menü. Das Service-Personal ist stets aufmerksam und freundlich.
Die Menüreheinfolge war zeitlich perfekt abgestimmt.
Wer hier die Zeiten zwischen den Gängen kritisiert, ist kein Gourmet.
Bravo, für den gelungenen Abend.

Wir haben zu zweit draußen gesessen,  das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Sie haben sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben alles zu erklären, vorallem die Weinbegleitung zu den einzelnen Gängen war fantastisch, solche Weine hätten wir nie bestellt. Die junge Frau hat uns hervorragend mit den einzelnen Weinen vertraut gemacht und großzügig eingeschenkt. Das Essen war leider eine Enttäuschung, der Gruß aus der Küche großzügig portioniert, frischer grüner Spargel roh in Sößchen aber viel zu viel Mayonnaise. Die gebackene Auster hat das gleiche Schicksal ereilt, zu viel Mayonnaise. Der Spargel wurde dann mit Schmand gereicht, aber der Geschmack war ziemlich ähnlich den Vorgängern. Das wagye Rind war überhaupt nicht meins, mein Mann fand es sehr gut. Die Pilz Tortelli fand ich klasse, sehr kräftig und geschmackvoll, davon hätte ich gerne mehr gehabt. Der Steinbutt war sehr klein und für eine Hauptspeise eher enttäuschend. Das Perlhuhn war glaube ich ganz gut, mein Mann war zufrieden. Die Rahmwaffel an Rhabarber war sehr schön angerichtet aber auch sehr süß. Die Brownies waren sehr dunkelschockoladig, fast bitter. Gott sei Dank Zuckerwürfel Größe und schnell verzehrt. Die Gerichte waren wunderschön anzusehen und meisterhaft inszeniert. Wir kommen bestimmt noch mal wieder,  aber Sterne Küche kennen wir anders. Was wir auch teilweise sehr störend fanden waren die tieffliegenden Flugzeuge, sehr unangenehm, aber dafür kann der Clostermanns Hof nichts.

The two of us sat outside and the staff was very attentive and friendly. They put a lot of effort into explaining everything, especially the wine accompaniment to the individual courses was fantastic, we would never have ordered wines like that. The young woman did an excellent job of familiarizing us with the individual wines and poured them generously. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment, the greeting from the kitchen was generously portioned, fresh green asparagus raw in sauce but far too much mayonnaise. The baked oyster met the same fate, too much mayonnaise. The asparagus was then served with sour cream, but the taste was pretty similar to the previous ones. The wagy beef wasn't my thing at all, my husband thought it was very good. I thought the mushroom tortelli was great, very strong and tasty, I would have liked more of that. The turbot was very small and rather disappointing for a main course. I think the guinea fowl was pretty good, my husband was happy. The cream waffle with rhubarb was beautifully presented but also very sweet. The brownies were very dark chocolatey, almost bitter. Thank goodness sugar cube size and consumed quickly. The dishes were beautiful to look at and masterfully staged. We'll definitely come back again, but we know star cuisine differently. What we also found very disturbing were the low-flying planes, very unpleasant, but Clostermanns Hof can't do anything about that.
