A restaurant that was known to us from the past as high quality, changed direction and deteriorated to medium quality or below. The dishes that were served were all dipped in the same sweet teriyaki style sauce, a small portions like a gourmet, the addition of potato was served to four diners in a small saucer. The lack of a vegetarian option, and above all, an exorbitant over price for everything described here. I would positively mention the wine of this winery. according to the level of the food I would suggest that they focus on making wine. Bottom line stay away!

I visited this restaurant yesterday with my family and we simply loved this place. Located just half hour from Mannheim, it offers incredible local wine and menu offers a good selection of food. Don’t forget to look at the specials of the day! Location is cozy, staff friendly and ready to assist with customers needs/requirements.

To start with the positive aspects, the culinary offerings at Knipser Halbstuck are very good, and their wine selection is nothing short of superb. The staff are exuding warmth and kindness, qualities I've consistently appreciated during my previous visits.

However, my recent experience was marred by a distressing issue: an infestation of fruit flies. These insects were not merely a fleeting nuisance but were persistently present in our glasses, on our food, and flying around us throughout our meal. A LOT of flies! The occurrence was so glaring that I documented it through videos and photos.

Given the restaurant's high calibre, pricing, and reputation, the situation is profoundly disappointing and below their standards. I highlighted the issue thrice to the staff, yet no immediate action was taken

What exacerbated the situation was the lack of professional responsiveness (the third time it was mentioned beer mat coasters were placed on our glasses, which was a silly gesture to be frank). Staff should by themselves recognize such glaring faults and offer better solutions. Offering nonsensical explanations (we are in a country side) or shifting the responsibility onto the customer ("how would you solve it") is unacceptable. After assertive negotiation, a meagre 10% discount was reluctantly granted, seemingly to placate a 'difficult customer' rather than to genuinely make amends.

The establishment has the potential to elevate its operations to the next level, and I sincerely hope that it does so by refining its standards and professionalism.
