Auch nach inzwischen 5 Besuchen, für mich das beste Restaurant weit und breit. Tolle kreative Ideen aus der Küche. Gaumenorgasums garantiert. Der Service ist extrem freundlich und dabei aber extrem unkompliziert. Immer wieder gerne.

Unser 4. Besuch, bisher das absolute Highlight des Jahres zu einem Jahrestag, aber nachdem es jetzt Sternerestaurant ist und die neue Karte hat, nur ein Menü, holt es uns nicht mehr so ab. Das Essen ist uns zu overdone, viel zuviele Komponenten, kaum zuzuordnen. Sicher aber eine enorme Leistung, aber der Preis ist dann auch entsprechend. Uns hat es leider nicht mehr so abgeholt. Dazu ist die Weinbegleitung teilweise sehr unbefriedigend gewesen. Rotweine viel zu jung, schade, das sie geöffnet wurden. Das war jedenfalls im Vergleich mit anderen Sternerestaurants nicht gut. Unser Hinweis wurde mit dem Aufbau des Weinkellers abgewiesen, das sei gewollt, das ist schwierig bei dem preislichen Anspruch. Das Ambiente ist nach wie vor phantastisch und es war auch nicht eng besetzt, was sehr angenehm ist. Das James als Hotel ist nach wie vor Spitzenklasse.

Our 4th visit, so far the absolute highlight of the year on an anniversary, but now that it is a star restaurant and has the new menu, only one menu, we are no longer that impressed. The food is too overdone for us, far too many components, hard to classify. Certainly an enormous performance, but the price is also corresponding. Unfortunately it didn't really appeal to us anymore. In addition, the wine accompaniment was sometimes very unsatisfactory. Red wines are much too young, it's a shame they were opened. In any case, that wasn't good compared to other star restaurants. Our suggestion was rejected when it came to building the wine cellar; that was intentional, but that was difficult given the price. The ambience is still fantastic and it wasn't crowded, which is very pleasant. The James as a hotel is still top class.
