Dined during an event. While some dishes were great - as the choice of local venison - and the staff was warm and welcoming - the overall experience was a bit underwhelming.

The food was a bit hit and miss for the price. I strongly recommend the venison and the fish (both main courses) but wasn't particularly convinced by appetizers or desserts.

It was especially difficult to order wine, with long waiting time to get a bottle and even discussion over "recommendations". I understand the struggles of the waiters in not being able to remember the extensive list of wines, some of which are not in their native tongue. However, if I pick a wine from the menu, I want that one. I don't want to be "recommended" another one, which ended up being not of my liking. I did appreciate the banter and the jokes from both our main waiters. Maybe leaving a wine list on site for them would have spared us some trouble.

Was expecting more from this establishment especially given the high prices. My partner and I each had the 3 course menu. The kitchen clearly tried for creativity, but the flavors didn't complement each other and the execution was generally lackluster. For example the meat dish was overcooked and stuffed with cream cheese. The fish dish was tasty but the presentation was off. Our waiter was friendly and apologetic for the long wait time, clearly they were understaffed. On a positive note, the owner (?) personally offered us a digestif of our choice after the meal which was a nice touch.

The restaurant was a new discovery for us. They serve lunch until 14h45 and have two daily specials with an unbeatable price - performance ratio (between 11 and 13 €). A la carte dishes tend to be between €18 and €35.
There are many vegetarian and gluten-free options. Everything was very tasty. They also have delicious chocolates from the chocolatier down the street and good ice cream. We will definitely come back again.

Very expensive food with average level of quality that you can get in any other cheaper places. Service is also bad, the worst thing is you have a limited time slot to eat and leave. Also as mentioned in other reviews if you are not coming on time or at all, like a doctor‘s appointment you have to pay punishment of 35€!!!!
Never ever again!

Definitely one of the best restaurants in Tubingen. We had the mushroom ravioli and the grilled cauliflower and they were amongst the best vegetarian dishes we ever ate. Nice and friendly staff as well, so no reason not to stop by when visiting this lovely city.
