We stopped at Alpenrose by accident, driving off the highway to find some place for a break. It totally exceeded our expectations - great food, lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. They are vegetarian-friendly too, I absolutely loved their asparagus soup and vegetable plate

Large portions, fair prices, delicious food, nice people. Something I especially liked was their availability of alcohol free cocktails (2 when I was there), which weren't just two juices poured into each other. My cocktail had finesse and was super delicious.

Tonight, four chefs from the region served us at Gasthof Alpenrose. The entire turnover and tips go to Ukraine. Completely unknown new tastes combined with traditional kitchen, creative cuisine, haute cuisine, smart guys! Thank you so much!

My favourite place in Chiemgau area. Very traditional looking place popular among locals as well from abroad for its cosy atmosphere and exceptional kitchen. I recommend to choose "Chef's Surprise" from the menu. You will not be disappointed.
