We arrived rather late after driving from Venice and this place was a real treat. The service was quick, and kind and they were flexible in providing reduced portions for our kids that do not eat that much. I had the Pork Belly with kimchi, and it was amazingly good. I would return again if I were in Bamberg.

EDIT: so it seems vita has responded to my review. They mention a couple of points which Id like to address. First off they state costs are going up and accuse me of using "discounted business lunch offers from colleagues". Id like to point out I do not review company paid dinners and compared them to Michelin star Restaurants in Germany that were located in larger more expensive cities, which I also reviewed. Furthermore this visit I paid for the dinner for me and my friend and am more than willing to upload a receipt. As I said their staff wasn't bad but simply not interested, nothing more nothing less. As for the food poisoning this is my experience, My account is full of reviews for reputable establishments and high end cuisine I don't see the need to lie.  THE DATE ISSUE: The owner says I did not review the place till later on. Unfortunately I have been busy with work and travels and have not had time, I take detailed notes of all the high end restaurants I eat at. The exact date I ate here was July 4th 2023, I stayed in Bamberg for 2 days. You can see on my account that I have only recently reviewed a number of places all around Germany, including in Bamberg.  Also on that account you can see various Michelin star restaurants and high end establishments globally that I have accurately reviewed.

My review for Vita remains the same I do not review based on external factors. The review for the owner however is 0 stars, snarky and rather presumptuous.

I will say that Vita Bamberg was a interesting visit. The servers were nice and attentive but did not seem very interested.

The Ambiance: The Restaurant is situated in a quite cove of Bamberg making it a nice place to eat dinner.

We tried a number of the dishes and while some were well plated others were an attempt to plate. The food was okay, there was nothing notable about the dishes.

My experience here ended in food poisoning. This was unfortunate considering the exorbitant pricing they charged. The vast majority of Michelin restaurants I have been to charge less per dish than Vita.

Overall I would not recommend dining here. Your experience may be different but unfortunately mine was quite poor. The Restaurant redeems some points in ambiance and cleanliness but the food poisoning and well above market pricing means I would not recommend it.

One of the best carbonara I've had in Germany. A bit spicy, a bit salty, a bit bitter even, perfect texture.
Tiramisu was also great, light and alcoholic. Service was really nice and attentive, unfortunately not a common experience in Germany yet. Sit in the charming Hof if you get the chance.
