Here off-season (November), so no wait and less crowded, despite it being Saturday!  Much easier to spend time looking at minute details, and there are so many to look at!  You have to make a choice here: the sheer number of artifacts here is as overwhelming as it is amazing, so you either skim most and scrutinize a few to get through in a couple hours, or you hunker down and devote half a day or more. I did the latter on the first floor, then had to rush the second floor (just as big) to get through it by its 3:30 closing. Incredible that so many pieces have survived (sadly, mostly because they  were found in grave sites); nonetheless, it is a national treasure, that could only be better if the British Museum were to return the many items that they have.

A must visit for anyone that wants to know about the ancients back in time and see that even tho so many years passed there are many similarities!! Their architecture style was unique considering their knowledge and "science" back then... The museum is very well organized with many rooms to explore and see things that only the ancient people saw and get a glimpse of what was going on in their everyday life!! The staff was friendly and helpful...

Not to be missed. Beautifully labeled and contextualized artwork that really makes the last come alive. Crowded of course but not so bad that you can’t move around and see everything. The security is polite and respectful (I was holding my camera against the glass and the nice lady explained that wasn’t allowed.

The cafe is wonderful as well. And I could sit and have a coffee in front of a beautiful mosaic.

One of the best museums I have ever seen.  It was not crowded during our stop in November. Plan for a whole day because it is huge. We spent 6hrs there and did even see the whole thing
