Since you arrive, the reception girls welcome you with a beautiful and huge smile, the name of House is perfect, that’s why it’s what you feel, that you’re at home.

The place is always super clean, the kitchen is small but as it is a very sociable hostel you will always have space to cook (I would add one more fridge) it has a beautiful backyard so you can relax and enjoy being away from the city, then inside there is a place to relax and sit down to read, or work with your computer.

The only con I found is the room where I slept I have a bed and slept upstairs, when moving the person who slept below woke me up at all times, then he has an emergency light that illuminates a lot.

But everything else is excellent, if you doubt it will be my accommodation the next time I visit Budapest again.

A bit remote, however, the trams do a good job bringing you to the city centre quick.
The atmosphere is great and the rooms are clean. Also, a big plus in summer is the shadow from the trees around the building that keep the hostel cool.
There are some mosquitos, though.
Good wifi and free coffee, tea and filtered water.
Overall, excellent value for money.

I was surprised that I slept so good during my stay. I was a little skeptical because there were a lot of mosquitos but the lady in the reception gave me a mosquito spray and I haven’t noticed any mosquito inside the room. It was the best pillow and comforter in a hostel. I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels and Shantee House have good quality of pillows and comforters. The room smells good too.

It is a very chill hostel. There’s a kitchen with a drinking water that’s for free and they also have some foods and cooking ingredients which is free to use. They have a study area where they have books, games and entertainment. I also got to stay at the study area after check-out time and can also leave my luggage after check-out time.

The downside is just the mosquitoes or else everything was perfect.

How can this place not have 10 stars? First, the welcome by Bori via email was warm and informative. The hostel is a very special place, between shrine, new age and greenhouse. This will be personal, but it just feels good.
Don’t come here if you want to party. If you want a clean room, cosy common areas, respectful co guests, and just super cool environment, yes, this is the place! The train tracks are nearby so there’s a bit of noise but nothing that kept us from sleeping even with windows wide open (and it’s warm in the summer so you want those windows open:)
We had the jade room which usually has 2 single beds but which now also has an additional bunk bed. It’s en suite and was perfect for our 3 night stay.
The common kitchen has everything needed to cook, there’s bike rental and one can get laundry done too for a fee. The location is excellent as plenty of trams within walking distance take you into the city center.

It’s my third time here, fully recommend, value for money. Great stuff, amazing kitchen and great chill spots outdoor. You can find Free parking spots available with 5 min walk from the guesthouse.
