i'd have loved to know this before going there. the place is owned by Orbán's family. Although they produce hungarian wine, they do not support other hungarian wine makers, instead they serve New Zealand wine and their house wine. They also do not support local hungarian businesses, they have all kind of digestives, but no Unicum.
Furthermore, they are putting pressure on the neighbouring wine producers, who are forced to sell their lands to this family.. It's a crazy world and we can make a difference by chosing not to support this corruption.

We stopped at Kreinbacher for a lunch and a wine tasting during our day of touring around Somlo. First of all, the place is an architecture marvel. Just admiring the way the winery and the restaurant are constructed, already worth a visit. The bistro restaurant itself is highly recommended. While it was empty when we arrived (pre-season), both the food and the service were very good. The wines are very well crafted and well worth a dedicated visit for those who appreciate them.
Definitely a recommended experience. Will be happy to be back.

This is perfect relaxing place for us. We've been 4 times already and planning on going back many more times. Everything is excellent. The rooms, the service, the place itself. We love the food and drinks there, it is always a delight to taste the chef's creations. We recommend it very much.

Poor value for money and well overpriced.
£15 for a medium glass of red wine.

Purchased two bottles of wine from the shop but the staff member took it upon themselves to upgrade to “premium” bottles at double the price. When challenged my Hungarian partner was made to feel cheap for requesting the cheaper option. She overheard the staff member arranging for the screw top bottles to be replaced with the cork bottles at the higher cost. Unacceptable.

It is a world class winery similar to the ones in California. Very modern and environment friendly design. The interior design as modern and different like the exterior. Every piece is picked carefully. The furniture is a mixed of modern design with old Hungarian everyday items creating an exclusive feeling. The wines were easy to drink for my pallet and it tasted different from other wineries due to the unique terra. The food was also good and a good complement for the wines. Definitely recommended.

Kreinbacher József 2002-ben alapította a birtokot, azóta folyamatosan fejlesztik a szőlészetet és borászatot, hogy a terroirt kifejező borok szülessenek. 2014 óta palackos erjesztésű pezsgőket készítenek, melyeket nemzetközi versenyeken díjaztak.

A Langer Gábor executive chef vezette bisztró évek óta a legjobb vidéki éttermek között szerepel, 2022-ben és 2023-ban is Michelin-ajánlást szerzett.
