This is a lovely hotel with traditional decor but with modern facilities.
The spa/pools are wonderful and well maintained.
We booked a suite and it was a very large size.
The staff are very friendly and efficient.
The breakfast had lots of great options.
I requested a higher floor with a good view and was not disappointed. There were lovely views of the Danube. Thank you for fulfilling this request as I know requests can’t always be met.

I was only in Budapest for work reasons so I didn't really stay for a holiday and had no time at all to use the wellness facilities, but everything else was excellent. The room was spacious, had everything I needed and wanted in a room (tea kettle, complimentary water, comfortable bed, electrical outlet near the bed, work desk, etc.). The breakfast selection was great too and they had enough coffee machines as well. The location in Margaret Island was a bonus, I wasn't even aware of this place and I've been to Budapest a few times in the last 10 years but never got to explore this place. I wasn't planning to stay here but the hotel they used as a venue for my work event did not have a room they allowed for one person, so it was just coincidence that I found Ensana Grand, but it was actually a good opportunity to try this out.

Great location, away from the main city. Rooms dated, so a bit of an overhaul would benefit. Food good, breakfast excellent, coffee and drinks machines actually taste of decent drinks.
City sights beautiful, although we hit it at 37°, so hard going.
Recommend hotel for a short break, superb outdoor and indoor pools in a joining hotel.

The hotel is in a great location with nice pools and a relaxing spa area. Despite its age, it's fairly well-maintained.

I would like to bring to your attention an issue I experienced during my recent stay at your hotel.

Upon my arrival, the gentleman at the front desk assured me that I would be able to charge my meals at the restaurant (brunch bar) and bar to my room, and that the charges would be added to my main invoice. However, this did not happen as promised.

In the evening, when I went to the bar for dinner, I specifically asked the waiter if I could add the meal to my room bill. He confirmed that I could, so I ordered my dinner. After the meal, when I asked if I needed to sign anything, a different staff member (girl) informed me that they were unable to charge it to my room. A manager was called over, and while I explained the situation, I found his attitude to be less than accommodating. Unfortunately, I did not have my card or cash with me at that time, so I had to return to my room to get my card and then go back to the bar to pay.

The next morning, I approached the same front desk employee, asking him to add the bar charge to my main invoice. Once again, he informed me that he could not do it, leaving the situation unresolved.

This is the first time I have encountered such an unprofessional experience at a 4 stars hotel.

Stayed at Escana from November 8-10 for a business trip, and the experience was disappointing. The lobby was mostly closed for a private event, making it hard to enjoy the hotel's atmosphere. When we tried to check out the event, a security guard roughly pushed us back without any explanation, which felt very unprofessional. Loud music from the event also kept us up late, and the reception staff said they couldn’t help. We raised these concerns with management, but the follow-up was minimal, and a complimentary drink did little to make up for the poor experience. Not what we expected from a high-end hotel.
