Offers nice lake views and exceptional service. Rokus took amazing care of us.

Although mixed at times, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast. Highly recommend!

On paper this seems like an ideal
Place to stay to visit Reykjavik it it is a 25 minute drive out and in the middle of a housing estate on an unmade road so not very easy to each or get public transport to and from. Taxis are expensive compared to UK prices so even though half of the hotel is lovely and renovated, the convenience of staying in the town centre makes Hotel Kruines not a great choice. The superior suite room we stayed in was lovely and very comfortable. Bit not sure its value for money.
But it is a strange mix of old fashioned and modernised and comfortable. The entrance is odd with Mexican and Spanish trinkets and old decors yet the new section down the stairs is dark and warm and modern. The food in the restaurant was very average but quite nice.
The service was very poor. Lots of nice young people but without much clue about good customer service. All a bit vague and uncertain of how good hospitality should be.

We were over the moon with our 3 night stay here. The rooms are large, stylish and comfortable, the view of the lake from your bed is incredible. Bathroom is great with amazing shower water pressure, all well stocked with nice toiletries. Every member of staff was lovely, really friendly and couldn't do enough to help you. The breakfasts are good, huge selection of hot and cold food, pastries drinks etc, and in the dark Icelandic winter mornings eating breakfast by candlelight felt like a nice touch. The hotel itself is quirky and interesting, lots to look at and do. We are at the restaurant one evening and the quality of food was amazing. The whole place had a calming and welcoming vibe. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to visit Iceland and can't thank the staff enough ❤️ including Boomer the night guard 🐕

It was an unforgettable experience! The stay was wonderful. The hotel is very clean and cozy, and I believe all the rooms have a great view. We stayed for 2 nights before a trip through the south of the country, and returned for the last night before finishing our journey. Both times, we were able to see the Northern Lights from our window, it was incredible. I would like to highlight the service of the young man on the night of February 15th. He was extremely kind, accommodated us late in the evening for dinner, and was very friendly in recommending the meal. At the end, he called us to see the aurora, which had just begun.

Best hotel quality price.
They were super gentle with us, and the space it feels super new and modern.
Another good point super important for me is cleaning, and in that case one of the cleanest rooms I've slept on🫡
