The lighthouse view was absolutely stunning, and the surrounding nature made the experience even more magical! Stunning and very easy to get to from Bus 11 in Reykjavik. Short 20 minute walk from the bus stop but bear in mind you can only reach the lighthouse at low tide so best to check out the tide times. We went as the sun rose and it was cold but gorgeous!

Me and my husband like to see all the lighthouse where we travel if we can. That's why we go here. It was nice where you can walk around to see apart of different Reykjavik.
We recognise that all most of the old lighthouse in Iceland designed are the same. Very interested.

It is such a peaceful and beautiful place. We got very great weather and a low tie. So we were able to walk from the peninsula to the Grótta island easily to see the lighthouse.
Parking gets tight during the evening with the Aurora Borealis potential sightings, but it is plentiful during the day and free

Stunning peninsula with lighthouse just a short drive from city centre. The island can be reached at low tide and approximately 3 hours between tides. We arrived too late and don’t want to risk it and also a lot of piled seaweed blocking the beach path that was still not under water. Wild fowl reserve to the left of lighthouse has a hide overlooking the inland lake. Closed during nesting season 1st May to 30th July. Free parking although car park is not so big. We enjoyed the walk but weather was terrible so didn’t spend more than 30minutes.
