This was our favorite place we stayed during our trip to Iceland! It felt like a home away from home. The staff was very accommodating, and we thought the smoothies in the morning were such a thoughtful touch. The location is incredibly convenient, especially if you will be using Bus Stop 8. You are just a short walk from all you'll need! We also appreciated the observation space so that we could try to catch a glimpse of the northern lights over the city.

Highly recommend this stay! We were greeted by friendly staff, who gave us suggestions of what to do. Our room was clean, quiet, and spacious. The bathroom is not en suite, but we did not mind. They provided soap, shampoo, conditioner, and towels. We also enjoyed the common kitchen with tea, coffee, and fridge. We did not need to heat anything up but appreciated the opportunity if needed. They also provided luggage storage, which was needed for early arrival. Also, we really enjoyed the complimentary smoothies! They were delicious. Great location, too. Highly recommend this stay!

I was traveling solo and had a 1 person room with a view of Hallgrimskirkja (beautiful church, you can hear bells sound the time throughout the day). I appreciated the location which was within 10 minutes walk of many attractions and restaurants. They also had a smoothie for each guest in the fridge each day and let me check in many hours early due to an early flight. The bathroom is shared for each floor but I did not have any issues getting access. Highly recommend for those that plan to spend time out and about. The room was good for sleeping but a bit small for wanting to hang out in. There was a lounge on the top level with skylights and couches for relaxing.

The location just 2 blocks from the famous church was perfect as my tours could pick me up from the church and it was just 15 minutes or less  walk to sights and shopping.  I never used a bus or taxi.  The rooms were very clean and comfortable. There was a kitchen available and cold water in the refrig.  The bathroom was shared but no problem. I will definitely book again if I return to Iceland.  Prices were very reasonable

I'm usually not a person who writes reviews , but I truly feel that Freyja Guesthouse deserves a review.
Let's start with something that truly impressed me about our experience at Freyja. It a rarity in today's world that you will find more accommodating, helpful, and people willing to go above and beyond for their guests. Let me explain. While many hotels will hold your luggage for you, they waited for and delivered to our room luggage that had been left in Boston so that we could enjoy a worry free Golden Circle tour. That's nothing compared to what truly impressed me about our visit. While on that tour my wife injured herself requiring medical attention the next morning. They helped us figure out where to go, offered a ride there, brought our luggage to the hospital, and then dropped us off at the cruise port so we could make our embarkation. If you're looking for a Bed and Breakfast type of accommodation give them a try they will impress you as they did me.
Time for a little about the overall accommodations. The rooms although smaller are comfortable and some have shared bathrooms, it's not a big deal really you get used to it. There's also a shared kitchen on each floor with a coffee machine, refrigerator, and microwave. So if you're looking for great hosts with a unique accommodation please give them a try you won't regret it.
