One of our absolute favourite places to eat, a hidden gem for food and wine lovers. Chef Sebastian cooks an incredibly delicious sea inspired menu (which changes regularly) and Elena pairs the culinary delights with fantastic wines. It's a great experience which breaks from traditional irish dinners, it offers a welcome change from meat and veg, highlighting fresh ingredients and wonderful flavours. The oysters are a real treat, keep doing what you're doing!

I recently dined at Sea Shanty drawn by the promise of unique seafood options, and I left with a mix of impressions. First off, the oysters were fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and a definite highlight. The creativity shone in dishes like the soft-shell crab curry, which had a perfect balance of flavors, and the calamari tacos, which brought an unexpected twist. However, while I appreciated the adventurous take on the tacos, the flavor didn’t quite hit the mark for me, and the portions felt small for the price.

The staff were wonderful, showing genuine attentiveness and dedication that made the experience memorable, but I was disappointed by the cleanliness. As the first reservation of the night, I expected the space to feel neater and more polished. Despite that, the atmosphere was inviting and lively, and I could see the potential for it to become a go-to spot. Overall, I’d say this place is worth a visit for the inventive seafood and excellent service—just know it may still be a work in progress.

This was the best experience ever! A must-do for anyone visiting Ireland. This is the only place in the country where I could try a variety of oysters from different regions, each with its own unique flavor profile. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and take the time to explain everything about the oysters, making the experience both educational and delicious. The service was amazing from start to finish. If you're an oyster lover or just curious, this is an experience you absolutely cannot miss!

Wow. Incredible experience brought to life by Chef Sebastian. "Every oyster has a story to tell." I have never experienced oysters like the ones Sebastian was serving and his wine pairings were perfect. The mussels with lamb sweetbreads were deliciously genius. Looking forward to the next opportunity to eat with Chef Sebastian.

I wish I could give Sea Shanty 6 stars (though secretly I don’t want to share it with others..). My absolute favourite spot for oysters and wine topped off with some ever-changing creative seafood and the friendliest service. Elena and Sebastian have managed to create an experience I always seek out when travelling-personal, amazing quality food, knowledgable hosts and a truly relaxed atmosphere. I will continue to go back every week :) If you’re lucky enough to grab one of the 8 stools you will know why.
