A quirky little museum! It was quite small but fans of James Joyce (especially Ulysses) will enjoy it. It was a little hectic when I visited because they were preparing for Bloomsday but overall the staff were kind and friendly. They had a few interesting books and journals about James Joyce in the store too! (As well as some free books in the entrance hallway.)

Really cool and well-put together exhibition following James Joyce’s life and his experience with Ulysses. They focus on the women that made him who he is as well as his craft and his living situations throughout his life…excellent. I had a great time here!

A rather disappointing museum, given the 5 Euro entrance fee. The single room dedicated to 18 dioramas depicting the 18 sections of Ulysses is the highlight.  Unfortunately, in a majority of other rooms, setup por performances or presentations obstructed viewing of those areas. Neither did staff explain what was going on. But in the courtyard one can view the rescued door of No 7 Eccles St, and on the stairway, try to pronounce a thunderword from Finnegan's Wake

I went on the Joyce Center's Ulysses Tour recently and it was an absolute delight. It took waaay longer than the scheduled amount of time, so plan for that! It's very Joycean / Bloomian to go on and on and on, isn't it? Ha. The tour guide was a true gem, a real font of knowledge regarding Joyce, Dublin, and Irish history. And he was laugh riot funny. We covered a large enough swath of Dublin, learning about the history of each spot where we stopped, how it figured into Ulysses, and the guide had us all take turns reading the parts of Ulysses that pertained to the spot where we were standing. It was really beautiful, informative, and fun. Wear comfortable shoes and leave your schedule open, it's a long one, but 100% worth it. Totally a must-do for anyone interested in literary Dublin.
