Another incredibly interesting place in Dublin's veins. Even though is kinda small, it is, without a doubt, a magical place for history and libraries lovers. Every detail is incredible.
I guess I was lucky because it was a lovely and sunny Satuday afternoon, so the sunlight through the windows made the photos very beautiful.

What a charming and beautiful library filled with antique books from 14th century onwards. When I visited, they have an exhibition about the oldest books they have and it was super interesting to see books written in Latin, Greek, Jewish, etc. I recommend buying the €15 combination tickets for the library and St Patrick’s Cathedral which is just 3-5 minutes walking to distance to each other. Absolutely loved the library.

Also, you will find the skull of Jonathan Swift’s friend/alleged lover, Esther aka Stella here in the library. This will make sense when you visit the cathedral :)

This is a beatiful place but only if you like old books and the history behind them. If you are not into historic books you will find this place boring. You see just old books mainly from the outside, you can't open them not even touch them. Some books are on display - open of course. All the rest is just in shelved like in a library. It is nice to see the conservation of these gems. Don't believe that your files, photos or data will last for 500+ years - personal files are often lost after 20 years.

A gorgeous old library! The current exhibition was featuring books published shortly after the invention of the printing press. You don’t need a ton of time here, but worth it if you’d like to see some of these old works!

I absolutely love this charming library. It's a hidden gem that not enough people know about! So if you visit St Patrick's Cathedral, you have to visit Marsh's Library too. It's a peaceful place, with lots of old & beautiful books. A book lover's paradise! Many thanks to the staff for taking care of this library so beautifully!
