We loved our stay at the Davenport. We were close to things we wanted to see and the front desk was helpful in arranging transportation to the things we didn't want to walk too. They even provided me with a cup of coffee while we were figuring out where we wanted to go, nice touch.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the city.  33 minutes walking from the Guinness storehouse and only 11 minutes from the Book of Kells. The staff was friendly and when we reported there was an issue with the iron, they replaced it within 5 minutes. The bed was super comfortable and the in-room coffee machine made a great cup of espresso. The breakfast had great selections for all tastes.  Fresh pressed apple juice and orange juice and smoothies.  Eggs prepared any way you wanted and Irish sausage options galore.  Pastries were handmade and delicious.

We paid for two nights in the Davenport but unfortunately the experience fell far below what we expected from a four star hotel charging premium rates.

We requested our room be cleaned and restocked with water when leaving to go into the city in the morning. The receptionist assured us this would be done but abruptly hung up before I had finished speaking. When we returned later in the day, the room had not been cleaned. When we followed up, we were told cleaning would not begin until 5 PM. This meant that we would have to leave our room while housekeeping entered late in the evening, leaving us unable to get ready due to the lack of clean towels and water.

Additionally, the room itself was disappointing—small, dark, and not reflective of the standard we expected from the Davenport, especially for a celebratory occasion.

Due to these issues, we chose to check out early. The receptionist made no effort to address or resolve our concerns when we expressed dissatisfaction with our stay. Instead, we were informed that no refund could be issued as the stay was prepaid and that we would be recorded as an “early checkout”.

We emailed to make a formal complaint and were advised that we should have asked for a senior manager to resolve our complaint. It is surely on the onus of staff to communicate the escalation of complaints, not the customer. We requested a refund for the unused night, which was ignored, and instead we were offered a preferential rate should we wish to stay again. We reached out again to request a refund, as it made no sense to spend more money on this below-average service. Unfortunately, our email was ignored.

There are far nicer hotels in Dublin. For our second night, we checked into a 3-star hotel that was a fraction of the price of the Davenport and which delivered a five-star service, including a warm welcome upon arrival, assistance with our bags, a complimentary glass of wine, freshly baked cakes in the room, a beautifully decorated room, and a walkthrough of the room's amenities. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

Clean rooms, a comfy bed, and a very pleasant and friendly staff what more can you ask for?

The hotel is located just far enough to avoid any noise of the city but close enough to walk and explore the city center.

We had a wonderful stay at the Davenport. We stayed in the Executive King room, which was generously sized and had a work desk, a coffee table and two chairs and a bench for tea/coffee. The bed was comfortable. We arrived at 11am and were given early access to our room (check in is at 4pm). The customer service and housekeeping was terrific.
I have given four stars based on some very small factors which includes poor lighting in the bedrooms (lots of lamps but lack of overhead lighting which made it difficult to work), fixed air conditioning (constantly fixed at 24 degrees which was not warm enough for us on subzero days) and poor shower pressure/heating. These are all very minor things and wouldn’t stop me from coming back again! Thank you for having us
