Horrible. Made the mistake of booking this room without looking at reviews first. Laying here awake at 2:30AM listening to the deafening yelling outside and music downstairs. Pay the extra money to stay elsewhere. This is the worst hotel I've ever experienced.

The uh, fire alarm just randomly went off at 2:30am and then turned off again. Almost like the club was closing and they wanted everyone out . We picked this place in a bind after a pretty harrowing flight from the States for graduation at Trinity. Luckily we have our actual hotel accommodations to look forward to tomorrow, but the first night in was a rough one. We were first put on the third floor, and as soon as we stepped into the room we were met with a sweltering wall of heat. The radiator knob was broken so no turning that off. We were then moved to a second story room in the back which was pretty spacious. This turned out to be a blessing, because the night club noise is no joke. Heed the reviews. (Yes, there really are earplugs in the bathroom instead of shampoos and things ) Why is there a hotel over a night club? No idea. Really weird concept actually. The room's furniture was pretty nice but half the wall sockets don't work, and one or two give you a nice little zap . Beds are passable. Make sure you can actually control the temperature in your room because the blankets are also very thick. Internet has absolutely no password protection, so unless you have a portable router to make the connection private like we did, be very careful using it to log into any of your accounts. Overall would not stay again, but we probably wouldn't get out money back for the second night we booked if we walked out now. So we'll see if the fire alarm goes off again tonight. Wish us luck and shoutout to the Iveagh Garden hotel across the street, they squeezed us in Sunday and we can't wait to go back Wednesday

We stayed overnight July 30, 2019 and some of the reviews are 6 years old. We had the disco thing going all night but from our room in the rear #23 it was marginal. The room was CLEAN and smelled CLEAN, so prior critics, your complaints were heard. BTW-Room 23 measures 24 feet by 20 feet. It's GIGANTIC! Ask for a room in the rear. €110 for 1 nite w breakfast was worth the adventure.

Horrific. Do not stay here. It is a dirty unsafe hotel. Water doesn't work, and there's a club that blasts music till 2am. They also set off fire alarms every night to clear out the club when they've overpacked it. The place is a shithole- just spend the extra money and get a nicer hotel

I was kind of iffy about this place because of all the warnings about noise from the adjacent nightclub. But we finally decided to book it because of the price and central location. (Plus, we wouldn't have to travel too far to go clubbing. ;)) Despite all the warnings, it was actually fine for a weekend stay. It was really funny, because there were ear plugs provided in our room. Already a bad sign about noise when you walk in. But this place was perfect for a long weekend in Dublin. I guess because we ended up staying out late every night anyway, so we were dead tired by the time we got back and promptly fell asleep in the wee hours of the morning. The breakfast was delicious, as I got the complete Irish breakfast with blood pudding and all the tasty delights. And after much hype from my Irish ex-boyfriend while we were in Switzerland, I finally got to try Irish soda bread here. It was very delicious when toasted. :) Ironically, my friend and I never ended up visiting the Dicey's Garden Bar downstairs during our entire trip. But I'm still glad we chose this place, because of the gorgeous decor, delicious breakfast, and very economical price!! :)

To the owners of the Russel Court... you need to close your hotel! Apparently it's too much of an annoyance to your pub and dance club. There are 20 cops downstairs nightly to deal with the disco traffic. Oh. And I paid a LOT of money to be here. Does that give me access to your club. A resounding NO! I must meet specific criteria and apparently the American who wants water or ice for room service does not fit that bill. As a matter of fact the club is so loud that on the FOURTH floor they give earplugs to the hotel guests!! Yep. That's right. I'm sure some other high paying customer complained and was met by some smarmy ass desk guy dancing away to the nightclub who told him to put on the earplugs if he can't stand the music. I'll have you know. I write music. I LOVE music. Dance, hip hop, rock. All kinds. But how about we pay attention to the guests.... The old days are over. Invest in air conditioners like the other hotels. Or just close it down all together. Alcohol sales went until 4am on a Sunday!! Fer fecksake Dublin was awesome except for this tragedy.. if it were the last hotel in Ireland I would hump it on the street. Just sayin

Terrible terrible terrible. My room smelt of stale tobacco, there was no shampoo or shower gel but they did have earplugs. Why? Oh yeah because it's also a nightclub and so loud at night - ALL night! Apart from that, the decor is nice enough and it was cool having a four poster bed!

The WORST hotel I have ever stayed in in my life, and I include in that 2 dollar per night hostels. This, however,cost 100 pounds a night; you couldn't pay me to ever stay here again. Initially checked in by a disinterested staff member, and given a poorly functioning keycard to our grotty, dilapidated room with dodgy electrics that refuse to stay on; this, I can cope with. What turned this into 3 days of living hell was the BOOM BOOM BOOM of ridiculously high bass from the club below (we were on the second floor). The items in the bathroom literally vibrated, as did the floor and even the pillows in the room. Despite using 2 different types of earplugs at once, we didn't get any sleep for three days; not ideal before a marathon. We were told 'it's a night club what do you expect' however I'm fairly sure I booked a room in a hotel not a nightclub. We desperately searched for elsewhere so we could leave, however it being marathon weekend we were unfortunately out of luck, but is have sold my left kidney to get out of this hellhole. I literally cried with the noise at 4.30 one morning, and given I work in A&E often on nights, it takes a lot to make me cry. Apparently there is a breakfast, but I can guarantee you won't eat it as you will only get to sleep after 6 when the drinks are thrown out, so don't make plans for the morning. Add to this a toilet in a space so small you can't sit without removing your left leg, a lift that barely fits one (or the choice of stairs that slope downwards on each step), dangerous electrics that won't stay on with damaged plug sockets, the lovely smell of vomit in all the corridors used by the club goers, filthy rusting bathroom facilities and disintegrating furniture, and all in all you get a hotel that, given a choice, would not beat a sleeping bag in a skip. Save your money. Squat in a public toilet. It will smell better and you have a greater chance of sleep.

Where to start with place? Possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I've been in some stinkers!! For a start, this hotel is not cheap, so when my girlfriend booked it, I expected a certain standard of hotel and value for the price. I did not get this. First of all the music and outside noise goes on till 6am so you will get no sleep, the staff are not that friendly and at times seem poorly trained. We were actually stopped and rudely talked down by a bouncer at the door asking "What we were doing here?" It's a hotel buddy i'll give you 2 guesses!!! The rooms themselves are in a poor condition and I was even woken up by a dripping leak in the room's roof. I informed the reception that the leak was near the plug sockets, but she didn't seem to care. It seems all The Russell Court Hotel is good for is a quick one night stand after hooking up in Dice's. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's all it's there for. It does not provide good service, good rooms or a comfortable night's sleep. This is the first online review I have ever written so you can imagine how annoyed I was leaving the hotel.

Where to start... My stay at the Russell Court hotel was interesting to put it vaguely. Between unfriendly and rather aggressive staff, floor pounding music all night throughout the hotel, and rooms in the opposite off hygienic state, I struggle to recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff- Before my arrival I called reception a day early to simply confirm that my booking was in their system, as to avoid any surprises upon arrival. The person on the phone was able to help me with my queries, but I felt had some sort of attitude in their responses. I thought nothing of it, everyone has their bad days. The next day when I checked in, I presume the same person at the desk still had this "stand-off" vibe. Again, I passed this off. What I couldn't pass off however, was every member of staff I came across (except one) to be some of the most ignorant, agitated people I've ever come across. Basic manners seemed like a rarity; no greeting, short one word answers, and the hassle of getting into the very rooms you've paid for was unlike anything I've ever heard off. Treatment of Guests- This is something that I think should be written in bold, everywhere. This is not your average hotel... at all. Basically, when you check in, you must write down the names of each guest in every room you book. Fair enough. However, you better remember exactly who you wrote down for each room, because "if ye don't have that sorted next time, you're sleepin on the streets". That is a direct quote from night staff, as my friend and myself mixed up our room numbers, leading us to name the wrong guests. And to make matters worse, they don't tell you that this will happen upon your return to the hotel. I had to enquire at the reception before leaving about what I'd heard happens when guests return to the hotel. Then they go the extra mile, having another staff member stationed on the stairs asking the same questions, and for whatever reason the sheet with rooms and guests is different depending on the staff member.. one night I went through front door security completely fine, then as I approached the woman on the steps she tries to tell me 'Room xx is only booked for one person.' In fact, said room was booked for 3 people, and the man at the door was able to confirm that. Honestly, the hassle of just getting in after a long day was utterly ridiculous. And to top it all off, they had the urge to place staff at the door to confirm names and guests... at 2pm in the day, a time where there is no clubs or drunks on the street. Music- You'll read in other reviews and it's the same in this one: it is loud. This isn't a hotel. Its a nightclub with bedrooms in the front, slapped with a different name and pretends to be a separate entity. If you want to sleep, do not bother booking, seriously. Music didn't let up until after 5am one night, and if you have a room facing the street you have the pleasure of shouting drunks and gardai outside the entire night. The "complimentary earplugs" were useless, and the bass shakes entire rooms for hours. The only case I could see this being a good option is if you're the type of person looking to just have a crazy night partying, and not make it back to the hotel until early morning. The Rooms- Incredibly dated and ugly decor, but that is very far from the biggest problem. The rooms have a strange smell of being 'stale' I suppose, and the furnishing and timber frames and doors are desperately in need of repair. There is no safe, fridge, or lock on the bathroom, and simple things like shampoo and wash were lacking. The spare blankets in the closet were plain gross, and the carpet had suspicious stains. The beds were fine, but I found the pillows to be very uncomfortable for some reason, and I can't tell why. This didn't matter to me too much, but the TV has only one channel working, and our one had signal problems for some reason where it was mainly static on the screen. Food- We has complimentary breakfast with our stay. Can't complain, cereal, fruits, yogurts and toast were plentiful, and an full Irish breakfast was also offered. I just found it funny that breakfast was strictly 7-10am, while the nightclub would only stop playing music a couple hours earlier. To conclude, look elsewhere. Thankfully our stay as a group just about worked out and we didn't have much choice with it being a very busy and popular weekend in Dublin. However, I wouldn't even consider it again. Especially at a price point of just under €200 per night, booked 6 months in advance. Stay away, far far away.
